Terms and Conditions
At Legacy Performing Arts - LPA - our students and families are very important to us; we will always be respectful and willing to help our students and families in any way we can. We thank you for entrusting your children to us and we fully appreciate this is a privilege you have given us. As teachers of LPA, we are excited to pass on the love of dance, to all our students and to watch them grow and become the dancer they want to be.
Class Fees
$ 9.00 - 30 min class
$13.00 - 45 min class
$16.00 - 60 min class
$25.00 - 45 min Aerial Arts
$25.00 - 30 min private/solo tuition
$50.00 - 60 min private/solo tuition
Other Fees
$30.00 - Enrolment Fee per student (Insurance, Administration & Music Licensing)
$50.00 - Concert Levy per family (Everyone receives a Concert video on USB, event insurance & Event music Licensing)
$50.00 - Performance Team Levy (Eisteddfod Entries)
All fees are GST Exclusive
Fee Agreement and Payment Terms
- The parent/guardian that is listed as the “customer” on student’s enrolment register is responsible for payment of fees.
- Fees are to be paid in advance at the commencement of each term (by week 2) or a 5% late fee may be charged, unless prior arrangement has been made.
- All classes are charged as a term fee— if a student attends one class or all classes, the term fee remains the same.
- Class fees are non-refundable once the term has commenced. No refunds will be given for missed lessons, withdrawals, or changes in students availability.
- If a class is cancelled by a LPA teacher, a catch-up lesson will be scheduled.
- GST is applicable to the fees.
Uniform and Presentation
- Students to always be neat and tidy.
- Hair is to be secured in a bun.
- No jewellery is to be worn in class, except for studs/small hoops.
- LPA leotards for ballet and tap.
- LPA jazz shorts for jazz and acro (with leotard).
- LPA crop top and shorts/leggings can be worn for jazz and hip hop.
- Leggings for aerial with leotard or crop top.
- Black wraps for winter.
- Little Legacy Classes are to wear the LPA Dress.
- If you require any more uniforms for this year, please contact LPA Director.
Attendance & Class Commitment
- Regular and on time attendance is expected and essential for student progress.
- All students are included in the annual End of Year Concert. This may require additional rehearsal times and costume hire fees. Students who miss continuous lessons may be asked to step out particularly leading up to the concert.
- Students are to dance exclusively with LPA, apart from our recreational program students.Or at the discretion of the principal/owner if it is in the best interest and advancement of the student.
- Students are encouraged to attend future workshops with LPA or other studios. Prior to attending other studio workshops, please advise Director of LPA, we want to be able to share and be involved in all our students learning and progress.
Care of Students
- LPA is not responsible for the supervision of students before or after scheduled dance classes or at organised outside events. Younger children at organised outside events are to be supervised by parent/guardians.
- Parents must ensure their child is dropped off and picked up on time to/from class.
- Students who walk from school to the studio are not under LPA’s responsibility until their class begins.
Expectations
- Students are always to be respectful and courteous to LPA faculty, each other and parent helpers, upon entering the studio, during organised events or at any time publicly representing LPA.
- Students and families are to please be mindful when entering the studio; other classes may be in progress and to enter quietly.
Photo & Media Release
- LPA reserves the right to publish/upload photographs and/or video recordings captured by/for LPA for its own purposes. If you do not wish for your child to be photographed/videoed, this must be given in writing via email to the director of LPA at [email protected], please note though your child will be included in the end of year concert video.
Substitution of Teachers
- At times a regular class teacher if unavailable due to sickness or an emergency will be replaced by another qualified teacher at the Directors discretion.
Extreme Weather & Unexpected Class Interruptions
- If LPA must close due to extreme weather conditions, power outages, or other events beyond our control, a make-up lesson will be scheduled. No refunds will be provided for missed lessons due to these circumstances.
Exams
- LPA currently follows the Ballet Australasia Ltd syllabus (BAL) for Ballet and Tap.
- LPA also offer Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) exams on request or invitation.
- Students have the option to sit an exam every year.
- Exams are not compulsory at LPA, but highly recommended, as it helps the student to reach a goal every year.
- For performance team and solo students, exams are compulsory.
General
- Ballet is a compulsory class for all LPA students, ballet is the foundation to all dance styles. Your child will automatically be enrolled in a ballet class for their age group upon enrolment. The exception is if your child only participates in Recreational Hip Hop, Recreational Acrobatics or Aerial Arts (Acro is compulsory to do Aerial Arts). A ballet class is not required for these mentioned classes.
- LPA will not tolerate bullying, exclusive behaviour, racism, abusive language, threatening physical harm or any other form of negativity towards others.
- LPA reserves the right to change/reschedule/cancel classes due to numbers.
- When classes are full a waitlist will apply.
- Timetables are subject to change through the year, this will be kept at a minimum. Notice will be given.
- LPA staff are committed to merit-based and skill-based considerations when choreographing. All student placement in routines and performances is solely at the discretion of the LPA teaching faculty and the LPA faculty decision is final.
- It is accepted that there are physical challenges and potential for injury as part of the nature of undertaking formal dance instruction.
- LPA instructors are highly experienced and qualified in their field with accreditations and over 18yrs instructors have Working with Children Checks.
- All care and safe practices are undertaken, however LPA is not liable for injuries or accidents occurring at the studio or at alternative venues/organised events. Full indemnity is hereby granted to LPA and its staff members/representatives of any responsibility or liability for injury sustained either at the studio or elsewhere.
- No mobile phones for students/families are to be used in the studios, unless directed by LPA faculty.
- LPA retains ownership of all choreography and creation, and all such routines and associated music remain exclusively with LPA.
- If in the unlikely hood that a student or family is in breach of any obligation under these Terms and Conditions (including those relating to payment of the Fees) LPA may terminate the students registration.
Private Tuition
- All LPA students are welcome to undertake weekly private lessons with LPA teachers, to work on technique, exam preparation or confidence. Subject to availability. Please email studio director at [email protected]
- If private tuition is undertaken, due to waitlists and time availability, it is important that students are committed to their weekly allocated time and fulfil the fees for private tuition for the entirety of the term.
- Fees for private tuition are to be paid in advance at the commencement of each term (week 2)
- If a student cannot attend their private tuition, it is the responsibility of the family to inform the LPA director.
- A catch-up lesson may be available depending on availability of times. Normal term fee will still be charged. If lesson is cancelled by a LPA teacher, a lesson fee will not be charged.
- At times a regular teacher if unavailable due to sickness or an emergency will be replaced by another qualified teacher at the Directors discretion.
Solo Tuition for Eisteffod Routines
- Solo tuition is by invitation from LPA faculty and offered as an extension for students who show exceptional commitment/potential in general weekly classes/ improvement in private tuition lessons /exam grades achieved.
- If solo tuition is undertaken, due to waitlists and time availability, it is important that students are committed to their weekly allocated time and fulfil the fees for solo tuition for the entirety of the term.
- Fees for private tuition are to be paid in advance at the commencement of each term (week 2)
- If a student cannot attend their solo tuition, it is the responsibility of the family to inform the LPA director.
- A catch-up lesson may be available depending on availability of times. Normal term fee will still be charged. If lesson is cancelled by LPA, lesson fee will not be charged.
- It is the responsibility of the student/parent to enter and pay for solo performances into competitions/eisteddfods. LPA director will always be available to help if required.
- All arrangements for costumes, props, attendance etc are the responsibility of the individual student/family. LPA faculty will always be available for help if required.
- As a representative solo performer of LPA, it is expected that students behave respectfully to others and ensure that LPA is promoted positively.
- New solo routines are not to be performed at competitions/eisteddfods until approved by a LPA teacher.
- Students are not permitted to perform solo routines outside of LPA approved competitions/eisteddfods without the permission of LPA.
- Please ensure LPA is advised of any student participation in dance performances through other entities (for example, schools, fund raisers functions) particularly within the public arena. As we always would like to be able to support our students and the community on these occasions.
- All individual routines/choreography and associated music remain the property of LPA.

Performance Team
- Students dance exclusively with LPA. Or at the discretion of the principal/owner.
- Exams are compulsory for students.
- Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, Tap, Technique & Conditioning are compulsory classes.
- Students/clients commitment to the LPA Performance Team is for the full calendar year (12 months).
- LPA enters and plans competitions and events for the year many months in advance. Notice of these dates will be provided to students/parents when and as LPA is advised.
- Performance Team students are expected to attend all nominated events.
- Attendance is compulsory for all rehearsals. This may include the occasional school holidays/long weekends.
- Costumes are hired for each performance from LPA. All costume hire fees are to be paid in full prior to the performance/event.
- Costumes are at the discretion of the LPA faculty.
- Each Performance Team student is to ensure they have the correct clean shoes, stockings (including spares), make-up, hair as advised by the LPA faculty.

- Do not approach director or LPA faculty before, after, or during class unless they are not teaching, unless it is urgent.
- You agree to raise any matters, concerns, complaints or incidences firstly and directly to LPA staff.
