GLISSON ROAD STUDIOS LTDChildren's Theatre School – Enrolment Terms & Conditions
Glisson Road Studios Ltd – Company No. 16631121
By enrolling a child with Glisson Road Studios Ltd ("the Studio"), the parent or legal guardian ("the Parent") agrees to the following Terms & Conditions.
1. Enrolment
Children's classes are available from 3 years of age, subject to the age and ability requirements of individual classes.
Parents are responsible for ensuring that all information provided during enrolment is accurate and kept up to date, including contact details, emergency contacts, medical conditions, allergies, injuries and any additional information relevant to the student's safety or welfare.
The Studio reserves the right to refuse an enrolment where reasonably necessary for the safe and appropriate operation of its classes.
2. Term Fees & Payment
Class fees are charged for the full published term and are payable in advance by the payment deadline provided.
A student's place will not automatically be cancelled if payment is late. However, the Studio will contact the Parent regarding outstanding fees, and continued non-payment may result in suspension or withdrawal of the student's place.
Where a separate payment plan has been agreed, the Parent will also be subject to the applicable Payment Plan Terms & Conditions.
3. Refunds & Credits
Term fees are non-refundable once the term has commenced.
No refund or credit will normally be provided where a student misses a class due to absence, holidays or other personal circumstances.
Where a student experiences a prolonged illness or injury, the Parent may contact the Studio in writing to request a credit. Any credit offered will be considered on an individual basis and remains at the discretion of management.
Where the Studio cancels a class, we will endeavour to provide a substitute teacher, alternative class or make-up session where reasonably possible.
Where a cancelled class cannot be replaced or rearranged, an appropriate credit will be applied.
4. Trial Classes
Where available, trial classes are charged at £8 per class.
Trial fees are separate from term fees and are not deducted from the cost of the term if the student subsequently enrols.
A trial does not guarantee an ongoing place within the class, and places remain subject to availability.
5. Withdrawal & Notice
Parents wishing to permanently withdraw a student are required to provide one full academic term's written notice.
Notice must be provided to the Studio in writing.
Where the required notice is not provided, fees may remain payable for the applicable notice period.
6. Attendance & Punctuality
Regular attendance is encouraged to support students' development and progression.
If a student has repeated unexplained absences, the Studio may contact the Parent to confirm whether they intend to continue attending.
Students should arrive in sufficient time to be ready for their class.
Where a student arrives significantly late and has missed the required warm-up, a teacher may refuse participation where they reasonably consider participation unsafe.
7. Uniform, Clothing & Jewellery
Uniform is not currently compulsory; however, Parents and students are expected to follow the Studio's published uniform guidance and wear appropriate clothing and footwear for their class.
Official uniform items are available through the Studio's Uniform Shop.
Hair should be tidy and securely tied back where appropriate.
Jewellery should not be worn during classes.
Students may be prevented from participating where their clothing, footwear, jewellery or appearance creates a reasonable health and safety risk.
8. Behaviour
Students must treat teachers, staff, volunteers and other students with respect and behave in a way that supports a safe and positive learning environment.
Bullying, aggression, abusive or inappropriate language, deliberate disruption, damage to property or behaviour that places another person at risk will not be tolerated.
Depending on the circumstances, the Studio may issue a warning, speak with the Parent, temporarily suspend a student or terminate their enrolment.
9. Parent & Guardian Conduct
Parents and Guardians are expected to communicate respectfully with teachers, staff, volunteers, students and other families.
Aggressive, threatening, abusive, discriminatory or harassing behaviour will not be tolerated.
Serious or repeated inappropriate behaviour may result in restrictions on access to the premises and, where necessary, termination of the student's enrolment.
10. Medical Information, Injuries & Illness
Parents must inform the Studio of any relevant:
Medical conditions
Allergies
Injuries
Disabilities or additional support requirements
Changes to emergency contact information
Parents must update this information whenever circumstances change.
Students should not attend classes where they have a contagious illness or where participation would reasonably present a risk to themselves or others.
If a student becomes unwell or is injured during a class, the Studio will take reasonable steps to provide appropriate assistance and contact the Parent or emergency contact where necessary.
11. Supervision & Collection
Students are under the supervision of the teacher during their scheduled class.
Parents may leave the premises while their child attends a class and return for collection.
However, Glisson Road Studios Ltd does not provide supervision for children in reception areas, corridors, changing areas or other communal/public areas outside their scheduled class time.
Parents remain responsible for children before their class begins and following the end of their class.
Parents should collect children promptly.
Students aged 16 years and over may leave the premises unaccompanied unless the Parent has informed the Studio of alternative arrangements.
Where another adult will collect a child, Parents should notify the Studio in advance wherever reasonably possible.
12. Photography & Video
Photography or video recording by audience members is not permitted during Studio performances unless expressly authorised.
The Studio may appoint official photographers or videographers for performances, events and promotional purposes.
Parents will be asked separately for appropriate photography and marketing consent, including use on the Studio's website, social media and promotional materials.
Photography and video will be managed in accordance with the Studio's Photography & Video and Safeguarding policies.
13. Class & Teacher Changes
The Studio reserves the right, where reasonably necessary, to:
Change teachers
Change studio rooms
Change class times or days
Combine appropriate classes
Change the timetable
Withdraw classes where numbers are insufficient
Parents will be given reasonable notice of significant changes wherever practicable.
14. Bank Holidays & Term Dates
Classes operate according to the published Glisson Road Studios term dates.
Classes will not normally operate on Bank Holidays or during published Studio holiday periods unless otherwise advised.
These closures will normally already be accounted for when term fees are calculated.
15. Unexpected Closures & Severe Weather
Where severe weather, building issues or other circumstances prevent a class from taking place, the Studio will endeavour to rearrange or make up the affected class where reasonably possible.
Where the Studio cancels a class and no suitable replacement or make-up session can be provided, an appropriate credit will be applied.
16. Performances, Examinations & Additional Activities
Students may be offered opportunities to participate in performances, examinations, workshops, competitions and other activities.
Additional charges may apply, including examination fees, costumes, workshops or other event-related costs. These will be communicated separately before commitment is required.
Additional rehearsals may also be necessary for performances.
17. Personal Property
Students remain responsible for their personal belongings.
The Studio cannot accept responsibility for loss, theft or damage to personal property except where responsibility cannot legally be excluded.
Valuable items should not be brought to classes unnecessarily.
18. Dance & Physical Activity
Dance, acrobatics and performing arts involve physical activity and carry an inherent risk of accidental injury.
The Studio will take reasonable steps to provide safe teaching and facilities.
Parents are responsible for informing the Studio of any injury, medical condition or other circumstance that could affect their child's ability to participate safely.
Nothing within these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
19. Safeguarding
Glisson Road Studios Ltd is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Students, Parents and visitors are expected to comply with the Studio's safeguarding procedures.
Any safeguarding concern should be reported promptly to the Studio so that it can be managed in accordance with the Safeguarding & Child Protection Policy.
20. Data Protection
Personal information is processed in accordance with applicable UK data protection legislation and the Glisson Road Studios Privacy Policy.
Information provided through Class Manager and during enrolment may be used where necessary to administer classes, process payments, communicate with Parents and support the safety and welfare of students.

Parents are encouraged to raise concerns promptly so that they can be addressed.
Formal complaints should be submitted to Glisson Road Studios Ltd in writing and will be handled in accordance with the Studio's Complaints Procedure.
