TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Registration and Payment

  • All students must complete the registration process before attending classes.
  • All students must pay a $50.00 registration fee at the time of enrolment. This is a once-off annual fee.
  • Paying Up Front: Tuition fees are due by the end of week two each term if you are not on a payment plan.
  • Payment Plans: Payment plans must be discussed prior to the start of each term. Payment plans are due by the final day of each term and must be paid weekly or fortnightly.
  • Late payments may incur additional charges.
  • Class fees are calculated on a term basis in line with each student’s elected dance program.
  • A non-refundable $50.00 registration fee per student, per year, is due upon enrolling.
  • No tuition will be refunded, transferred, or discounted under any circumstances.
  • If fees are late by more than 7 days, a $15 per week late fee will be applied.
  • Once a child is enrolled for a term, payment for that term will not be refunded and should be finalised regardless of whether the student completes the term.
  • There will be no rebates for public holidays, injuries, sickness, or other sporting commitments.
  • If your child withdraws from a performance team before the end of the performance season, there will be a $100.00 withdrawal fee. This fee covers the cost of additional classes and work required to amend the group dances before the next performance.
  • All accounts will be emailed before the commencement of each term.
  • Fees are due by week 2 of each term unless a payment plan has been set.
  • The account holder is responsible for all fee payments on time to avoid late fees.
  • All account and fee inquiries must be forwarded to the front desk or to Zoey Sweeney directly via this email: [email protected].
  • If fees are not finalised and no agreement has been made, the student’s enrolment may be suspended.
  • Creative and Active Kids vouchers must be submitted BEFORE the start of each term.
  • Costume fees will be sent out for each performance class for the eisteddfod season and for the end-of-year concert. These fees are between $30.00 and $120.00 per class. These fees are in addition to regular term fees and must be paid by the due date. Unpaid costume fees will result in the student not receiving a costume and therefore not performing with their team.
  • Enrolment is for the full calendar year. You must notify Orana Dance Centre before the end of week 10 if you wish to cancel your enrolment. Please see Fee Policy #6. Cancellation must be made in writing to [email protected].
  • Your child’s enrolment into the following term’s classes will automatically roll over to the next term unless notified in writing. An invoice for the following term will be automatically forwarded to you.

Class Schedule

  • The class schedule is subject to change, and any modifications will be communicated in advance.
  • Make-up classes may be offered in case of unavoidable class cancellations.

Attendance and Punctuality

  • Regular attendance is expected. Notify the studio by email or phone if you are unable to attend a class.
  • If you are sick or have a planned absence, please inform the office by calling 0415307684 or emailing [email protected] on or before the day of illness (preferably before the commencement of the lesson).
  • Cancellations should be communicated at least 1 hour before the scheduled class.
  • Refunds will not be provided for missed classes.

Behaviour and Attire

  • Respectful behaviour towards instructors and fellow students is mandatory.
  • Students must wear full uniform at all times. The uniform requirements can be found on our website: www.oranadancecentre.com.au, in the information tab.
  • All students are expected to take pride in their grooming, hair, and makeup – this discipline will reflect in their work ethic.

Studio Rules

  • Follow studio rules and guidelines posted in the facility.
  • Parents/guardians are responsible for the behaviour of their children in waiting areas. Students are only supervised by staff during their scheduled class times.
  • All students are expected to take pride in and respect the studio premises, dressing rooms, and general areas, always keeping these areas clean and tidy.
  • We ask that all students, parents, and siblings keep noise to a minimum when in the foyer or waiting between classes. Noise flows through the studios and can distract the classes still in progress.
  • Parents are to remain in the foyer area and not move through the hallway. This area is strictly for students only.
  • Parents should not enter the studio unless specifically invited in by the teacher. If you do need to give an urgent message to your child, please ask the receptionist rather than entering the dance room and interrupting the class.
  • Parents are not permitted to enter classes at any other times. If a student needs to leave early, reception should be informed, and arrangements made. Students must not leave the premises without notifying a teacher or receptionist.
  • All students are expected to be kind, friendly, and respectful of one another both in and out of the studio. We’re here to support each other and work as a team.
  • Bullying or highly competitive, unsportsmanlike behaviour is not welcome.
  • Orana Dance Centre will not be responsible for any valuables brought or left on the premises. Mobile phones are not permitted in the classrooms.
  • Any breakage or damage to the studio or its equipment due to your child acting negligently or not exercising due care will be charged to you for any replacement or repair.
  • Please respect our studio and help us keep it looking beautiful. Please keep your feet off the furniture and hands and feet off the walls and mirrors. Take all rubbish with you or place it in one of the many bins provided.
  • We expect students to demonstrate respect for our esteemed faculty of teachers and Orana Dance Centre staff at all times. We ask that you address teachers by their correct name, showing courtesy by actively observing corrections with actions, not reactions.
  • Students are not permitted to talk or chatter during a class.
  • If for any reason a student shows disrespect in any way that is deemed unacceptable by teachers or staff, the student will be asked to leave the class, and an email or communication will be sent to the parent/guardian informing them of the incident.
  • Any lost property found in the studios will be placed on the lost property shelf in the front dressing room. Any items unclaimed by the end of each term will be placed in the second-hand box for sale, donated to charity, or thrown out. Students should have all items of clothing clearly labelled with the student’s full name. Orana Dance Centre does not accept any responsibility for lost property.
  • The kitchen facilities are available for use by students and parents; however, kitchen rules must strictly be adhered to.
  • The reception desk and its equipment are out of bounds to all students and parents at all times.
  • In the case of failure to adhere to rules or unacceptable behaviour, students and parents will be issued with a warning or stricter action and possible suspension or expulsion from Orana Dance Centre.
  • Ballet Examinations for all students, both graded and vocational, will be held annually in Term 3. Students must be guided by their teachers as to their readiness for undertaking an exam.

Media Release

  • The studio may capture photos or videos for promotional purposes. Notify the studio if you prefer not to be featured.

Health and Safety

  • Report any injuries or health concerns to the instructor before participating in class.
  • Follow safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a secure dance environment.
  • The reception should be notified if a student requires any regular form of medication; this information will remain strictly confidential. Where parental permission for self-medication has been given, Orana Dance Centre will not be held responsible or liable for any misuse of this medication by the student.
  • Any medical condition(s) must also be identified and consent given in case of emergency requiring medical treatment. In case of an emergency requiring urgent medical attention, the staff and/or faculty of Orana Dance Centre will seek medical attention or have the student transported to a medical or hospital facility. In such an event, Orana Dance Centre will make every effort to contact the parents/guardians (or the emergency contact) before any action is taken.
  • All students are expected to bring their own water bottle with their name on it. Bottled water can also be purchased from the front desk.
  • Students and parents must notify the teacher of any prior injuries before attending class, during class, or after class.
  • It's the student's responsibility to ensure they follow safe dance practice instructions provided by the dance teacher at all times.
  • Parents and students should understand that dance is a sport, where injuries can sometimes occur.
  • Parents and students must report injuries immediately to an Orana Dance Centre teacher.
  • Orana Dance Centre is not liable for personal injuries. If an injury should occur in class, all reasonable efforts will be made to contact a parent or caregiver as quickly as possible. However, in the case of an emergency or if a parent cannot be reached, Orana Dance Centre will seek medical attention for the student. This includes first aid, or an ambulance being called at the parent/caregiver’s expense.
