Classes with Akuna Aquatic
Education coincide with NSW Public School terms.
Classes are held on pupil
free days.
The duration of Swim School
terms is generally 10 weeks.
Akuna Aquatic Education
reserves the right to cancel or change classes and teachers or move students
due to operational requirements.
Akuna Aquatic Education
strives to maintain continuity of Swim Teachers.
All teachers are AUSTSWIM,
Royal Lifesaving or Swim Australia qualified and hold current CPR certificate
& Working with Children Check.
We cannot guarantee the
same swim teacher each term.
Our preferred method or
communication is email.
Changes to terms and conditions, updates and news will be
communicated via email.
Enrolments
Full payment for the term
is required upon booking/beginning of term to secure your position within Akuna Aquatic Education unless a payment plan has been agreed with management.
Enrolments are rolled over to the next term, please notify Akuna Aquatic Education in writing prior to the term if you do not wish to continue.
Fees are non-refundable and
non-transferable.
Cancellations mid term due to
exceptional circumstances will incur a $60.00 administration fee.
Requests for cancellations
must be in writing.
Refunds or cancellations
are not guaranteed and are subject to the Aquatic Manager's approval. Any
refunds provided will not include amounts paid by government vouchers.
Fees and Charges are
reviewed annually.
Valid NSW Active Kids &
First Laps Vouchers are accepted by Akuna Aquatic Education.
Vouchers must be presented on booking. No refunds will be given
for vouchers presented after full payment has been accepted.
Missed Classes
Akuna Aquatic Education
offers 1 makeup class per term providing absence is explained.
Non explained absence will
result in lesson being forfeited.
Do not send children to
lessons if they are sick. This helps us in keeping other students and the staff
well.
Akuna Aquatic Education
reserves the right to remove sick or unwell students from lessons.
For any extended medical concerns please contact management.
Swimwear Policy
Non-toilet trained students
must wear an aqua nappy during lessons.
All swimwear should be made
of Iycra or nylon and is to be worn at all times in the water. No underwear, nappies,
boxer shorts or cotton outerwear permitted.
If you do not have the
appropriate swim wear you will not be permitted to enter the water.
Supervision
All children under the age
of 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult aged 18 or over, at all times
Children under the age or 5
must be within arm's reach of their parent/carer at all times.
Parents/carers must be
present for the duration of their child's swimming class.
The teacher’s duty of care does not begin until the student is
placed into their class and ends when the class is complete.
Pool Closures
NSW Department of Health
protocols state that the pools must remain closed for a set period or time it
there has been an incident including faecal or vomit.
Credits will be applied in the event of a pool closure due to
contamination or maintenance.
Health & Safety
Akuna Aquatic Education
members are asked to keep the Swim School informed of any medical conditions
that you/our child may have.
Providing this information
will assist us in ensuring you/your child's needs can be catered for and is
critical in the event of an emergency.
In the event of an
emergency evacuation please do not remove your child from the teachers care.
Please join your child's class where possible and follow the direction of the teacher
and other staff.
Once all class students are
accounted for and it's safe you will be advised and will be permitted to leave
the assembly area.
We ask that you seek
permission from the Pool Deck Supervisor before taking any photos or videos or
your child's class.
Smoking and vaping or the consumption of alcohol are not permitted
within the centre or within a within a 10-metre radius of the facility.
