OUR CANCELLATION POLICY
Your 2026 registration is held in each class for the entire year. Therefore your registration is for the whole 2026 year. You are able to make changes and cancellations by completing the Change in Registration Form which is available from the studio and must be handed into Miss Isla. Any cancellations must be made by week 8. Failure to do so will result in the registration being carried over to the following term(s) and full payment of the full term is required. No exceptions can be made to this rule.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF REGISTRATION ;

All Parents/Guardians are required to sign to say that they understand our Cancellation policy. All Signatures will be kept on file for proof that you have read and agreed to this rule.

Upon Registration, you must understand and agree that in participating in any dance class, workshop, rehearsal or performance, there is a possibility of physical injury. you therefore must voluntarily agree, to assume all risks and responsibility for any such injury or accident, which might occur to me or my child/children during any of Black Swan Dance Company classes, rehearsals, performances, or activities.

Permission must be granted to Black Swan Dance Company to use photographs of myself/child for publicity and advertising purposes.

OUR RULES and regulations;
Please take your time to read our terms and conditions. You are required to sign on the registration form that you have read, understood , and agree to our terms and conditions.
1.
Please choose carefully when submitting a registration. Once your registration is submitted it is accepted and your placement will be reserved, and payment will be due regardless of your attendance.
2.
Please note we do not allow parents to sit in or participate in any of our classes. It is important that our students are able to concentrate and feel comfortable, and this can not alway be achieved with parents watching in class. We do however offer Parent open days, which is organised at the end of term one. If you have any concerns, or wish to discuss this, please do not hesitate in contacting Miss Isla. In our Ready Set Dance Level 1 for children aged 2-3 - Parents will be able to sit in the first 2 weeks of the year to allow children to feel comfortable in class.
3.
Parents are welcome to wait in our waiting room/foyer during classes, alternatively you are welcome to drop children off and pick them up after class. It is a requirement that parents of students aged 10 or younger bring children up to the waiting room, and wait with them until their class has gone in. Please DO NOT allow young students to walk up to class on their own, or leave them in the waiting area before class has commenced. It is your responsibility to ensure your child has entered the class room before leaving them. Please ensure you are in the waiting room ready to pick up your child before class is finished.
4.
BSDC and its teachers do not take responsibility for your child before or after class. In the case of an emergency during class, parents will be called by your teacher. Please ensure emergency contact numbers are kept updated with the studio.
5.
BSDC has a zero tolerance to bullying under ANY circumstances. This includes bullying at the studio, at school or on social media. All students, parents and teachers have the right to feel safe and welcomed in our dance environment. Failure to adhere to this policy will result in immediate expulsion from the company. This rule applies to all students and family.
6.
Students are required to adhere to BSDC uniform policy, and the correct uniform must be worn to every class. It is a requirement that students are well presented and hair is appropriately groomed for class. Ballet classes require hair to be in a ballet bun.
7.
Missed classes due to sickness or public holidays/holidays are not refunded.
8.
We do not split invoices or payments - parents are asked to organise split payments between themselves.
9.
In the event of a power outage, an evacuation of any kind, or any other circumstances where classes can not be held due to situations out of our control refunds will not be offered, however if make-up classes are available or online zoom classes when they can be arranged - will be offered.
10.
The Black Swan Dance Company Management upholds the right to refuse student participation in class due to injury or risk of injury.

Unless previously advised, BSDC does not hold classes on public holidays. If make-up classes are available, they will be offered.
12.
Students invited to enter into RAD ballet exams or ATOD dance examinations are required to take the extra exam classes offered in the school holidays prior to the exam session. The extra exam classes are COMPULSORY, therefore if you do not take the extra exam classes you are not able to take the exam. ATOD extra exam lessons are taken in the June/July School Holidays and are often scheduled during the day. RAD exam extra lessons are taken in the Sept/Oct School holidays and are often scheduled during the day. The number of classes are dependant on the age and level of student(s).If you have any questions regarding this or wish to organise vacations, please discuss this with your teacher BEFORE entering into exams.

Parents are asked NOT to contact teachers personally on social media or any other avenue. Any dance related questions should be addressed to the director Isla Via email, phone or the offical BSDC social media pages.

All parents/carers are required to keep up to date with our online portal via Class Manager. You are also required to keep us up to date with your current email address and residential address.If you are not receiving emails, please let Miss Isla know so we can resolve this.our emails please double check you have entered the correct email addre

Upon registration you agree to our cancellation policy (See above) . Any cancellation in your registration must be made by completing the Change in registration form found at the studio. To help maintain a respectful, supportive, and professional environment for our students, families, and staff, we ask that all parents and guardians communicate concerns in a direct and constructive manner. Any questions, concerns, or issues should be brought directly to the Studio Owner so they can be addressed promptly and appropriately. Discussing concerns through gossip, social media, group chats, or conversations with teachers, students, or other parents is discouraged and not permitted. Negative or harmful comments about the studio, its staff, or its families—whether in person, in writing, or online—undermine our community and will not be tolerated. If this policy is violated, the studio reserves the right to take appropriate action, which may include a formal warning or dismissal from the studio, at the discretion of the Studio Owner. Dismissal may occur without refund. This policy is in place to ensure a positive experience for all and to allow concerns to be resolved in a respectful and effective way.
17. Black Swan students may not enrol in or regularly attend classes at any other dance school while registered with us. This policy is in place to protect the integrity of our training programs, choreography, and teaching methods, and to ensure consistency in technique, expectations, and dancer development. If a dancer wishes to attend a one-off workshop or special event at another studio, prior approval must be obtained from the studio owner.
18.
All guardians will be required to physically sign that you understand our cancellation policy. This can be emailed through or handed in at the studio. This is now a requirement for all students and your enrolment will not be processed until you have done so. We will keep all signatures on file until the end of 2026.
