Terms and Conditions

Trials                                                            

1. Each child is entitled to one trial session per class, payable weekly at Buckley Theatre School.

2. Buckley Theatre must have sufficient contact, identification and health details to assume responsibility for the child during the class.

3. We will alter the trial date on one occasion if the booked trial can no longer be attended. After this any subsequent trials will need to be paid for.

Joining Buckley Theatre School

1.Classes are purchased on a monthly basis and one months’ notice is required to cancel.  The classes will generally run consecutively and on occasions run over school half term holidays. 

2. Once you have taken your trial, fees are then payable in full by direct debit.

3. Classes are divided by age, but these are guidelines and students can be moved class or placed by ability.

Payment

1. You must sign up to the direct debit agreement when you enrol and your mandate must remain active until you have paid your final month's notice. Invoices will be sent on a monthly basis and payments collected 7 days before the due date.

All deposits for any activity, costume or show are non refundable.

2. If payment is not received we reserve the right to suspend your child’s classes until payment has been received.

3. Late fees of 20% of the outstanding bill will be added to all payments overdue by 14 days or more. Any amounts over £5 which have been outstanding for more than 60 days will be passed to a collections agency.

Discounts and Refunds

1. We regret that classes missed for whatever reason will not be refundable under any circumstances, however top up classes are available. You can pick up your missed class in any other subject of an equivalent level or a level below.  Please notify us by message/email if you intend to come to another class.  In extenuating circumstances refunds are up to the principal’s discretion.

3. Refunds will be issued within 28 days of notification and no refunds will be issued retrospectively.

Leaving, waiting lists and transfers

1. If a child wishes to leave Buckley Theatre School the office must be notified in writing with one months’ notice of payment or we have the right to actively seek 1 month’s payment. The one months remaining notice will be charged immediately by direct debit once the written confirmation has been received.

2. If a child leaves Buckley Theatre School and subsequently wishes to return, they may do so subject to a place being available.

3. If you would like to transfer to another subject, please notify us in writing and all fees will be transferred.  Subject to availability. 

4. If your child is on a waiting list, this does not guarantee a place in a particular session.

5. We accept no responsibility and make no guarantees to the order in which places are offered.

6. Places will be offered in the following order: a. Children who need to move up a class   b. New students on the waiting list

Uniform

On registering for classes, regulation uniform must be purchased within one month. This can be done through our website, details of which are available in the parent portal.

Liability

1. All teachers are fully qualified, DBS checked and insured and are fully aware of our child protection policy (available on request) However, due to the nature of teaching dance sometimes it is necessary to correct dance positions physically. This is always conducted with the utmost care and professionalism.

2. We reserve the right to cancel any classes anytime up to and including the date the activity starts.  Should this occur we will endeavour to give you as much notice as possible and attempt to find an alternative or a refund of any fees will be given.

3. Parents have a responsibility to notify us of any illness and injury that may affect the child’s class.

5. We do not accept responsibility for loss, damage or injury arising from errors or omissions on the registration form whether completed by you or the person in charge of your child at the time of enrolment.

6. We do not accept liability for death or personal injury to any child attending class, whether organised by Buckley Theatre School or otherwise. With the exception of such injury being caused by negligence or default of any member of our staff or any other default on our part.

7. We do not accept any responsibility for loss or damage to personal property.

8. We do not accept responsibility for any loss or expense due to circumstances beyond our control including, transport, fire, weather and other such actions.

9. Buckley Theatre School is GDPR compliant. Please see our privacy policy for information on data storage.

Photo/Video

1. Photographs and film may be made during classes and performances and used for publicity, including social media and promotion. By ticking the box to say you agree to the T's & C's and privacy policy when booking a trial and then enrolling, you are giving your consent for your child, therefore please inform us if you do not want your child's photograph or video taken. Our school shows, performances and events are recorded so your child cannot take part in these if you withdraw consent.

Miscellaneous

1. Buckley Theatre School will not pass on any details to a 3rd party except those specified in our privacy policy.

2. These terms and conditions, and any enrolment forms you have signed, constitute an agreement between you and us in connection to the classes or any services superseding any prior agreements.

3. Buckley Theatre School has a zero tolerance on bullying and should any child be found to be bullying they will be asked to leave.

4. It is your responsibility to ensure that we have the correct details for you and your child and keep us updated of any changes to health.

5. In the event that we consider you to be in breech of these terms &conditions or that your child is disruptive to other students or staff, teachers or venue staff, we reserve the right to exclude your child from any activity with Buckley Theatre School.

6. It is the responsibility of the Parent or Guardian to regularly read the website/facebook information and/or the notice board in order to be fully aware of all upcoming events.

7. The waiting area at our studio is for parents to wait only. Children must not use the area to play/dance and noise must be kept to a minimum. Property must be treated with respect so children must not stand on chairs and tables and any mess made from food/drinks must be cleared up immediately. Rubbish must be placed in the bins provided.

8. If you wish to talk to your child’s teacher please message us and we will arrange this. Please do not attempt to talk to your child’s teacher before/after classes as our classes run consecutively and so time will be taken away from the paying students from the current or next class.

9. Parents must remain in the building with pre-school children so they can be on hand to take them to the toilet or help with any arising issues.


Covid-19

1. During the pandemic Buckley Theatre School has taken every precaution and is adhering to Government guidelines in order to protect the children and staff, should we go into localised lockdown, classes will go online with the current timetable.

2. Time changes have previously been made to class times to allow for cleaning and reduced traffic.  We reserve the right to alter these times in accordance with safety guidance and government guidance.

3.Buckley Theatre School has a professional risk assessment. Staff are trained to deliver it and can be emailed to you on request.

4. In the event that a class cannot be held as the result of a situation beyond our control (included but not limited to a further lockdown due to Covid-19), it will be replaced online with a structured timetable.

Opt-in

By submitting this registration form, you will be indicating your consent to receiving e-mail marketing messages from Buckley Theatre School containing important information regarding classes. Please add us to your safe list of emails.

 

School Rules

1. Treat other people as you would want to be treated. Bullying in any form will not be tolerated. 

2. Mobile phones must be on silent and not be used during class.

3. Correct uniform must be worn, hair must be in a bun or other pinned up style and no jewellery for safety reasons. Ear studs are allowed.

4. Please be on time, if you are late do not interrupt the class until the teacher tells you it’s fine to join.

5. Address all teachers formally (‘Miss’) and with respect. Bad behaviour in or outside class will not be tolerated  

6. Respect our studio. Throw your rubbish away and do not climb on our furniture.

7. Only water allowed in the studios, no other food or drink  

8. Please ensure children are collected at their finish time. We cannot be responsible for children after their class ends  

9. Outside dance events must have been agreed with the principal.

2023/24: Students are not permitted to audition for any amateur dramatic theatre production until further notice  

10. Please conduct yourself properly at competitions/events outside of the school. Bad behaviour from students or their parents/carers will not be tolerated. You are representing our school.

11. School choreography is our property and may not be used for any other performance or organisation without prior permission from the principal.


IF YOU BREAK THESE RULES, AND DO NOT CORRECT THE ISSUE, THEN YOUR CLASS PLACE(S) WILL BE WITHDRAWN AND YOU WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE.
