KEEPING OUR RECORDS UP TO DATE

- - - - X

It is the responsibility of parents to inform the school of any changes to their child's contact or medical details. Parents/carers should ensure that contact and medical details are kept up-to-date by informing Melissa via email at [email protected].

Medical Treatment:

Occasionally, it may be necessary for CENTRE STARS to obtain medical treatment for a student. By agreeing to the school's rules and policies, parents/carers grant permission to Centre Stars staff to obtain medical care from a doctor, hospital, or emergency service organization for their child at any time deemed necessary for physical health purposes.

By agreeing to the school's rules and policies, parents/carers acknowledge that the risk of injury is inherent in any physical activity, and they, along with their child, knowingly and voluntarily accept that risk. Parents/carers and students hereby waive and release Melissa Oden, her family, and CENTRE STARS employees/volunteers from any and all claims or damages of any kind arising out of their child's participation in the exercise and/or dance program of CENTRE STARS.

SCHOOL PHOTOGRAPHY POLICY

- - - - X

At Centre Stars, we understand the importance of capturing memories through photographs and videos during classes, performances, and other events. We may use these photos for publicity purposes, as well as on our website, Facebook, other social media pages, and local press (where appropriate).

When you sign the school consent/class registration form, you are giving permission for your child's photographs and videos to be used for the above purposes, unless you inform us otherwise in writing (via email to [email protected]). If you do not want your child's photograph used for any of these purposes, please let us know in writing.

During shows and performances, we will take videos and photographs where appropriate. By signing the school consent form, you are giving permission for your child's photos and videos to be taken and used by the school for publicity purposes unless you have informed us otherwise. If you would like to take photos or videos of your child, please ensure that they are only for viewing by family members, and that they do not end up on social media or the internet without parental consent from all parents involved. We also ask that you take photos discreetly, so as not to disrupt the students.

PAYMENT POLICY

- - - - X

Payment Methods:

All fees must be paid via BACS/ online payment, within 14 days of the new term starting, and must be referenced using the child's name and invoice. Failure to make payment within this time frame will result in a £10 fee to cover administrative costs.

Cash and cheque payments can only be made by prior arrangement and agreement with CENTRE STARS. These payments must be placed in a labelled envelope and given to Melissa Oden personally.

Notice Periods:

If your child no longer wishes to continue classes, three weeks' notice in writing is required. If notice is given at the end of a term, and the child does not attend classes in the following term, parents will still be liable for the 3-week notice period, and will be issued an invoice regardless of their child's attendance.

This notice period policy is valid from September through to the end of the school year in July.

CHILD PROTECTION AND

HEALTH AND SAFETY

- - - - X

Please note that a copy of the school's full Child Protection Policy and Health and Safety Policy is available upon request.

Child Protection:

Appropriate Physical Contact in Dance

Teaching dance involves physical activity, and the teacher may sometimes need to make physical contact with a student to demonstrate a particular movement or to correct their posture. This may include:

- Lifting

- Adjusting arms, legs, rib cage, hips, feet, and hands

- Moving one student in relation to another

By agreeing to the school's rules and policies, parents or carers and students acknowledge that while CENTRE STARS teachers will always try to provide corrections in a verbal manner, sometimes the use of touch may be necessary to ensure effective instruction.

By agreeing to the school's rules and policies, parents or carers and students accept and understand that appropriate physical contact may be necessary when giving corrections and hereby give permission for any teacher from CENTRE STARS to do so. It is also important to note that any person teaching for CENTRE STARS will have an up-to-date DBS ENHANCED disclosure.
