The correct studio uniform of Dance Collective is required to be worn to class. Hair should be pulled back neatly into a bun for all ballet and jazz classes. Please refer to the website for uniform requirements. All syllabus class students (jazz, ballet, theatre) are required to work towards APDA examinations at the end of term two each year. Examinations fees are additional to term fees. All students will work towards a performance at the end of the year (December). A show levy is payable and split between term 3 and term 4 invoices. This levy covers costumes, extra rehearsals and show related costs. Costumes remain the property of dancers after the performance.
Students have priority over their class placement each term until the due date of fees. Fees are required prior to the start of the term. If fees are unpaid at the due date, the class place is automatically released for students on waitlists or new enrolments. I agree that I am liable for all fees due.
Dance Collective follow traditional teaching techniques which requires physical contact with students to ensure correct technical placement. We believe this is important to teach effectively. If you have any queries or concerns regarding this, please advise us prior to enrolment.
Dance Collective endeavour to provide a safe environment to reduce the risk of injury however it should be recognised by students, parents and guardians that dance by its very nature carries an element of risk. Dance Collective is not liable for personal injuries sustained or any loss or damage to personal property whilst on the premises. If you have an injury or medical condition, please notify the teacher prior to class. Students are under supervision whilst in class only, for safety reasons parent/guardians are required to collect students from inside the building.
Dance Collective will follow all public health measures and guidelines - it is the responsibility of students and parents to also follow these guidelines. Unwell students should not attend the studio. If a student is feeling unwell it is the student's responsibility to inform their teacher and stop dancing. Dance Collective accepts no responsibility in the event of sickness (including Covid-19) to enrolled or other students, participants or observers, during or outside class time, while in or by the studio, or on studio business (eg. performances).
