TAMDE

Terms and Conditions

Code of Conduct

At TAMDE, our aim is to train the individual, not only in the  practice of their chosen art form, but also in the essential

“skills for life” which are necessary for success in any profession, not only the arts.

For this training to be effective there is a Code of Conduct prescribed by this training establishment, in the interests of producing the best long term results for both the parents and the students.

Students enrolling at TAMDE are expected to follow the Code of Conduct prescribed.

PERSONAL PRESENTATION

All students at TAMDE are required to wear the prescribed listed dance attire for all classes.

Hair is to be neatly arranged, and for dance/acro students bound close to the head.  It is expected that students show respect for teachers and fellow students by being clean and tidy for class.  Shoes, socks and tights should be clean at all

times.

PUNCTUALITY:  Students should make every effort to be on

time for classes, especially the higher level dance classes,  which require a minimum 15 minute warm-up in the  interests of injury prevention.  If late for class, the student  should excuse themselves before taking their place in class.  If a student is going to be missing from class, we request  that the parent sends a message to us before the start

time of class.  This is so we know your child is safe and the  whereabouts are known to you as a parent/guardian. Your child is welcome to make this lesson up by joining another class.

If a student is going to miss a private lesson, the teacher  involved will need at least 6 hours notice, or the fee for theprivate lesson will still apply.

We do understand sickness, family circumstances and  accidents.  Please do not ever put your family at risk by rushing to class.  We do understand that things do happen.

COURTESY:  Students and parents are expected to show respect/manners and courtesy to all in our studio.  Please note: we do have our Steps/Anti Bullying program that is implemented in our studios.  Signs and copies are available at the studio.  Whilst in public, we expect the absolute best behaviour and sportsman ship from students/teachers and parents.  "Actions Speak Louder Than Words"

REHEARSAL AND CLASS WORK ETHIC:

Concentration and focus are an essential part of the learning process.  For this reason, students are expected to pay due attention in class at all times. If a student is sick, or has any type of injury then they must advise the teacher immediately,

and they will be excused.

Fees Policy

·     Fees are to be paid in full by the due date shown on the invoice.  Once after the due date, the late fee will be required.  Invoices must be paid in full to allow your child to continue attending classes for the following term.  Outstanding invoices may result in students not being entered for examinations, competitions or from learning solos at TAMDE.

·     Payments can be made by either cash, Cheque, card or preferably Direct Debit.  If paying cash, please ensure you have the correct money and is clearly marked in an envelope.

·     Payment plans are available for families who wish to pay their fees off over a set number of weeks.  Conditions do apply.  Please email Carene to find out more.

·     We are unable to refund/credit term fees, or part thereof, due to absence.  Lessons cancelled by the Director will be made up or deducted from the following terms account.

·     Fees are calculated and invoiced per term.  Payment is requested on this invoice.

·     Students enrolling into a new subject may have the first week as a “trial week”.  If students continue after the trial then FULL TERM FEES will be invoiced.

·     The Annual Enrolment Fee of $45.00 is non-refundable.

Please ensure your class manager account is up to date at all times as your invoice will be generated by what you have registered for.  As per our Terms and Conditions, if paying per term, you are responsible for the entire term payment.  Alterations to your term invoice after the due date will incur a fee. Invoices will have a 30 day term. Payments made after the due date will have a 10% of total fees added.

We will send reminders to update your class manager when required on our closed group page on Facebook

BEHAVIOUR MANAGEMENT

Please refer to our Behaviour Management Steps Program.

STEP 1

A verbal warning (from the teacher who has encountered or witnessed inappropriate behaviour) this will be documented.

STEP 2

If behaviour continues over a period of time, the student and parent/career will be required to meet with the teacher and director.

STEP 3

If the behaviour/situation continues with no resolution, the student will be asked to forfeit their position.

Students swearing, showing disrespect to teachers/other class members and to their school will be spoken to.

We want to be able to offer support and guidance to all students/parents.

Happy Students x Happy Parents = Happy School!!!!

A verbal warning is not a direct punishment.  It should be to let the student/parent know that what

is happening is not the right thing.  No student or parent should feel belittled in any way.  All situation details will be recorded should the problem go further.

If we are unaware of a problem, we cannot solve the problem!!!

BULLYING IS NOT TOLLERATED BY STUDENTS/PARENTS OR STAFF!!!

If you have any problems at all, please feel free to contact the director to discuss things further.  Together we can come up with the best positive way to handle any situation.

PARENTS ARE NOT TO TAKE MATTERS INTO THEIR OWN HANDS, IF THE SITUATION OCCURS ON STUDIO PROPERTY/COMPETITION OR EXHIBITION, THE DIRECTOR OF THE SCHOOL WILL HANDLE IT AS PER PROTICOL.

SAFETY/FIRE/LOCKDOWN PROCEDURES

All staff are required to be fully up to date with all first aid and blue card qualifications.

Theatre Arts Mackay Dance Excellence Procedure Incase of an Emergency

Our main aim and focus is to keep your precious children safe.  All staff will be up to date on all correct procedures.

Please observe the nearest exit to your studio.  Students will be instructed to stand in a line at the door.  Please note: Students will leave their bags.  Teachers are to collect their marked roll and mobile phones and proceed to lead the students in one line out of the building through the closest exit.  Our emergency meeting point will be on the foot path out the front of either side of the building.  This will depend on the location of the fire or incident taking place.  Teachers will not leave children unattended.  If teachers feel the need to escort the children safely across the road due to heat or explosion risk, they will do so with the most utmost care and concern for the students.

 LOCKDOWN

If a lockdown situation was to occur, in studio A, teachers are required to usher the students into the kitchen area and lock the doors.

If in studio B, the students will be ushered into the kitchen area. Teachers if it is possible to assemble all students into the kitchen this would be preferable as there is an access to outside.

Teachers are encouraged to have their mobile phones to call for further help.

If teachers feel the need to lock the front door this will be for a safety reason.

Please take note:  If studio B is being used and there is no one else in the building, the front door maybe locked for all of our safety.  The teacher will walk out with the students to unlock it at the end of class.  If you need to contact the teacher inside please feel free to call.
