Dance Space Essex Terms and Conditions
Please ensure you read the terms and conditions of enrolment before completing the registration form online.
FEES
Students will be offered a free trial session, thereafter fees are paid by monthly direct debit.
• There is s £25.00 joining fee which includes at DSE t-shirt.
• One months fees are payable upon joining thereafter fees are taken via monthly direct debit on 2nd of each month.
• Receipts will not be given unless specifically requested.
• In the event of classes being cancelled Dance Space Essex will reschedule the sessions, unfortunately if students cannot attend no refunds will be issued.
• There are no reductions for missed classes due to sickness, holiday, school events etc.
• All siblings within the same family are offered a 10% sibling discount.
• Fees will be reviewed annually.
• If you decide to withdraw your child from Dance Space Essex, 4 weeks notice is required in writing.
CODE OF CONDUCT
Dance Space Essex are committed to providing a safe, welcoming and nurturing environment that seeks to instil the joy of dance in all our students as well as develop important life skills such as commitment, reliability and teamwork.
To ensure a positive experience for all involved it is important that students, parents/ guardians adhere to the code of conduct listed below.
• Students should be punctual to lessons, latecomers may be refused entry due to risk of injury.
• Dance Space Essex is responsible for the safety of your child during class times, parents must ensure they wait with students until the class starts and arrive promptly to pick up.
• Dance Space Essex does not welcome negative comments from students or parents about other members.
• Ensure waiting areas are left tidy and put rubbish in bins provided.
• Show respect and care for the venue and equipment.
• Ensure siblings are supervised at all times.
• Parents/guardians are not permitted to sit in and watch classes, parents will be given the opportunity to see students progression during open house week and biannual shows.
• Please can parents/guardians refrain from watching classes through the window, it is highly disruptive. Parents/guardians are given the opportunity to view classes during open house week and the biannual show.
• If students need to use their phones they must ask the teacher for permission.
• Dancing is a physical skill and in order to help the students learning, tutors may need to physically guide or correct a movement by touch, by attending classes at Dance Space Essex parents & students are accepting that 'hands on' physical corrections may be given in class.
UNIFORM
• All students are required to wear the set regulation uniform for classes.
• Hair should be in a classical ballet bun for all ballet classes with the exception of preschool ballet and pulled away from the face in a ponytail for all other classes.
• All uniform is available to order online https://dse.mydancestore.co.uk
• NO jewellery should be worn.
• Failure to comply with the above may result in your child being refused entry into classes.
• Please can parents label clothes and shoes with forename and surname.
ISTD EXAMINATIONS, COMPETITIONS and COMPANY
• When preparing for examinations students will need to attend additional lessons and 100% attendance will be expected in order for students to partake in examinations.
• All students in Grade 2 Ballet and above are required to attend two ballet classes per week if they wish to be entered into examinations.
• Students will be entered when the teacher feels they have reached the required level this can take up to 2 years.
• If you are successful on auditioning for Dance Space Essex company it is compulsory to purchase the set DSE company uniform. A high level of commitment and attendance is required and will be continually monitored. Should students have poor attendance and not meet the commitment requirements they risk losing their place.
FOOD and DRINK
• No food, chewing gum, or drinks are allowed in the hall with the exception of water in a closable/spill proof container.
• Teachers will give students suitable drink breaks.
PERSONAL PROPERTY and INJURY
• Dance Space Essex will not be held responsible for any theft, damage or injuries incurred during classes.
• Any items found will be placed in the lost property bag. Any items that have not be claimed by the end of term will be disposed of.
By ticking this box you are giving permission for Dance Space Essex to administer medicine to your child in case of an emergency and agree that all information is true to your knowledge. The principal must be notified by email of any changes of health issues.
