Policies and Procedures

Once you have read and understood our Policy and Procedures please complete and sign an enrolment form

Fees - Fees are invoiced 2 weeks before payment is due, on the 1st of each month. All payments can be made via Online Banking or Direct Debit. Class fees when absent are still due unless a doctor’s note is provided. The maximum number of weeks that can be credited for a doctor’s note is 4 weeks per calendar year. Please inform the Academy of any absences due to illness, holidays etc.

Holiday Allowance – no holiday allowances are allowed due to Limited places per class.

Arrears of Fees -If arrears of fees amount to 2 weeks or more overdue, then an admin surcharge fee of 6% will be added to the overdue fees. The Principal also reserves the right to suspend, cancel classes for the pupil or pupils if you have any outstanding fees more than 1 week overdue.

Due to COVID-19 all fees must be paid a month in advance to cover a reserved place in the class, no changes can be made in that month. Please inform us in writing and we will make changes on the following months invoice.

Uniform & Grooming -This is an essential part of the discipline required in dance and must not be allowed to deteriorate. Any pupil who is not in uniform and well presented, could be refused entry to the class by the teacher in charge. When representing the school at events, Academy uniform must be worn, along with any black leggings/tracksuit pants or similar. Hair must always be well groomed. Uniform can be purchased online via our website https://dawsonsacademy.stitch-it.co/
Security -The school does not accept responsibility for loss of personal property. All valuables and any Uniform should be clearly labelled or initialled. (Bags will be kept with you, in class always). Coats and shoes must be hung up in the changing room. Please ensure that pupils are picked up on time, but if there is a delay, please contact the school. Pupils must not wait outside the main entrance of the premises. Pupils are not allowed to leave the school premises at any time, without permission. At this time the teacher/receptionist will take children down to the main door and hand to parents. (Please see the attached risk assessment for COVID-19 in place at the Academy and the Theatre School)

General – Pupils who are more than ten minutes late for a class could be refused entry. To maintain structured training for all pupils, the Principal’s written approval is required before a student takes part in any external events, or classes whether performance or photographic related. Permission to undertake performances outside the school will not unreasonably be withheld as it is recognised that some events will be with their school and of educational value.

Photography Videoing and marketing - Please be aware that any photographs taken during photo shoots or videos arranged by the Academy or the Theatre School, are subject to marketing. By attending such photo/Video shoots you are giving permission for these images to be used for all forms of advertising and marketing on behalf of the Academy. However, when attending rehearsals and photo shoots please do not take photographs of any child other than your own, unless you have prior permission from their parent or guardian. (Please advise us now if you do not wish your child to be involved in any of the above).

Before being accepted as a pupil of the Academy the Principal needs to be assured that proper notice has been given to any previous school attended.  This is because the Academy is run as a professional theatre school and once enrolled on one of our courses, that pupil is no longer allowed to attend any other school providing the same facilities that we provide.

Notice of at least two weeks in writing must be given of intention to leave the Academy (by email/letter)

**Please note that once you have enrolled at Dawsons Academy of Dance and Stage you are agreeing to the above policies and procedures.**
