  Uniform- All students must be appropriately dressed for classes in their correct uniform. This is an aspect of Safe Dance Practices. (See uniform sheet) Hair should be neat and tidy (buns for ballet

  Safety and Welfare- Students are responsible for their own personal safety and must conduct themselves in a responsible and safe manner. Students take classes at their own risk and no liability shall be taken by the school for injury or loss of personal property. Students should be respectful at all times and show courtesy. Please be aware that teaching may entail physical contact with the students to assist them with accurate placement.  All teachers (over the age of 18) at EDA have obtained their NSW Working with Children’s check.

  First Aid- Staff will administer basic First aid- band aids, ice pack, and antiseptic cream. In the event of an emergency where a parent/guardian cannot be contacted relevant medical care will be contacted. This may include transportation to hospital in an ambulance, if necessary. In such circumstances, parents/guardians agree to pay all medical expenses incurred on behalf of your child.

  Fees- Enrolment fee of $30 is to be paid before the commencement of classes. Term fees must be paid for regardless of whether the student attends all classes. Teachers may be replaced for lessons. If the class is cancelled by the studio refunds/credits will be given for that class. Invoices will be sent out in week 2 of each term with a due date for payments. Contact Ecarte Dance Academy if you need to make additional arrangements. Please provide us with a medical certificate if you have to miss class for more than a week due to hospitalisation or severe injury that prevents the student from participating in class. In these cases, we can discuss applying appropriate credits to your account. I

  Lessons- Parents are asked not to sit in on classes as this can be distracting to the students. There will be open days at the end of Term 1 and 2 where parents will be invited to watch the classes. Please inform staff via phone or email if your child will be away from class through illness or planned absence.   

Private lessons- Lessons will not be made up should you be unable to attend for any reason. Private lessons may be swapped with other students with permission from the principal. If 72 hours’ notice is given for not attending a private lesson, a 50% reduction of private lesson fee will be applied.

Timetable Changes– Please be aware that classes need a minimum number of students to continue running. If we do need to cancel a class, we will endeavour to find an alternative class for the students to join and we appreciate your co-operation and understanding in these cases. Please be aware that there may be some small changes to the timetable as the year continues. Any affected students will be informed before these changes are made.

Cancellation-If you wish to end your enrolment for any reason, you must submit a request in writing to the office before the end of the current term. If we do not receive a cancellation notice your enrolment will continue and you are liable to pay for the full term of classes in the following term.Cancellations after a term have commenced still incur full-term fees. Fees are strictly non-refundable.

Social media policy -When posting on personal social media channels parents and students must not:

-          Refer to EDA or its dancers, employees or volunteers, in a disparaging or negative manner

-          Represent any social media posts as being the views of EDA without written consent from the studio principal

-          Engage in conduct online that is likely to bring EDA into disrepute or otherwise damage its interests

Engage in conduct that would breach any policy of EDA
