INJURIES
As cheerleading is a very physically active sport, with many different stunts and tumble skills you acknowledge that you or your athlete may suffer physical harm or injury. Elite endeavors to conduct their training sessions in a manner that is safe, and allows the individual athlete to progress in a way that minimises the risk of an injury occurring. The coach in charge will assess any athlete that is injured during training and the appropriate course of action will be taken. If considered necessary, an ambulance will be called immediately. Any associated charges will be the responsibility of the athlete/parent. Elite All-Stars Cheer and Dance highly recommends that every athlete have Ambulance Cover at all times. If believed appropriate, an athlete will be allowed to return to training after taking a time out. If an athlete suffers a short-term injury whereby they cannot participate in general training, they will still be expected to attend every training session and participate where appropriate (e.g. strength/conditioning, marking routine etc). If an athlete suffers a long-term injury, they may be replaced as needed by another athlete for the required number of competitions. An athlete with a long- term injury must discuss with their coach an appropriate time to return to training once their injury has healed. A doctor’s or physio certificate giving clearance will be required. If any athlete is injured outside of training, they must contact their coach immediately to discuss the injury.
