Trials

Trial classes are currently free of charge. Trials classes are limited to one, although each student can trial more than one dance style. If there is no space in the current class, you will be added to a waiting list. Eminence Dance Academy prides itself on smaller classes allowing every dancer time to be seen by the teacher and individual feedback to be offered in every class. We will inform those on the waiting list as soon as a space becomes available to take a trial class. After the trial, you or your child can take 7 days before the next lesson to decide if you would like to sign up as a member of Eminence Dance Academy. Please let us know either way via email. If yes, the remainder of the half term will be paid upfront. Please note: during show rehearsal periods and exam preparation some classes may be unavailable to trial, in this instance you will be added to the waiting list. Sign up for a trial here: https://app.classmanager.com/trials/eminence-dance-academy

Any absences are at your discretion and will not be refunded. We highly recommend 100% attendance to gain the best out of the dance training we offer through Eminence Dance Academy’s pre-planned annual learning outcomes. If you or your child are to miss a class, the academy needs to be informed prior to the lesson via email or what’s app.

Leaving:

Although nobody likes goodbyes, we accept not all dance styles are for everyone. Should you wish to cancel a class or leave the academy you must provide half a terms notice (6 weeks) including fees and written confirmation via email: [email protected]

Safe Dance Practice

Arrive at the venue at least 5-10 minutes prior to the start time of a class, allowing the class to start promptly.

A warm up is taken at the start of each lesson, to physically and mentally prepare students for the lesson ahead. It is important that this is not missed. Anyone attending late will be permitted entry, but must take a separate warm up before joining in with the lesson for their own safety. To avoid disruption and flow of the lesson, we strongly suggest everyone arrives in plenty of time, allowing time to prepare for the class ahead.

Before taking part in any of our classes you must ensure that you or your child is wearing suitable clothing, including correct footwear, set uniform and hair in-place. No large jewellery in class, single studs on newly pierced ears is acceptable. Small fit-bits can be used if tracking steps but bulky watches will not be allowed.

Full uniform details can be found in the Eminence Dance Academy Information Pack. Branded Eminence Dance Academy uniform needs to be ordered directly through the academy via the contact email:

[email protected] or class teacher.

All unbranded and Royal Academy of Dance (ballet) uniform and can be purchased here: https://www.eminencedanceacademy.co.uk/uniform

All dancers must also take part in the cool down for their own safety and bring a bottle of water to every class.

At Eminence Dance Academy the safety of our dancers; you/your children, are extremely important to us.

Dancers will have a safe environment to exercise in but must be free from injury and in good health. Teachers will always teach with the dancers safety in mind, taking all risks and safety actions into consideration. We ask students to follow all instructions from the teacher to remain safe. If they do not, this may result in injury.

If you are new to exercise or you are recently returning from serious injury, illness, or pregnancy, we advise that you speak to a health professional prior to starting any dance class and inform us of the relevant information. If you or your child have any health concerns, injuries, or longstanding medical conditions you must include these in the sign up form and notify the instructor at the beginning of the class, following any modifications advised throughout the class. This includes informing us of COVID-19 cases or symptoms. If at any point during the class a dancer believes they have sustained an injury, feel unwell or light-headed they must stop immediately and request assistance from the teacher. It is important to maintain communication with the teacher and always remain hydrated when exercising.

There is always a trained first aider with a first aid kit on-site if anyone does require medical attention. In these instances, an injury incident form will be completed, signed by a guardian, and appropriate further medical advice suggested. We are not medical professionals and always advise seeking professional opinions from a doctor or sports physio if an injury occurs. A parent/guardian must have signed the waiver forms, and have a working mobile phone number to be contactable at all times during dance classes. We ask for two as a back up in emergency situations.

For safety, the teachers decision is final. If you wish to dispute any arising issues, please put this in writing for Miss Emilie to resolve privately. The best interest of the dancers are always first, but the respect of the teachers is paramount. We will not tolerate any form of disrespect towards are staff, volunteers or other EDA members. Bulling of any description will be taken extremely seriously and will likely lead to dismissal of the academy.
