By enrolling your child at Frederick Douglas Performing Arts Academy (Fred’s), you are agreeing to the following Terms & Conditions.

Payments & Fees

• Fees are payable in advance and should be paid before classes commence.

• Main Academy fees are charged on a 12-week termly basis.

• Novello and Lyceum fees are charged in 6-week blocks.

• Fees are reviewed annually and may be subject to change.

Current Fees:

• Novello | Ages 3–4: £42 per 6-week block – 45-minute class each Saturday.

• Lyceum | Ages 5–6: £60 per 6-week block – 1 hour 15-minute class each Saturday.

• Morning Academy | Years 3–8: £215 per 12-week term – 3-hour session each Saturday.

• Afternoon Academy | Years 9+: £225 per 12-week term – 3-hour session each Saturday.

• Fees are non-refundable for missed classes, including absence due to holidays or illness.

Leaving Fred’s

• If a student leaves before the end of a paid or invoiced term/block, no refund will be given.

• Any outstanding balance for the current term or block must be paid in full.

• The Principal must be notified in writing if a student wishes to leave Fred’s.

Uniform & Clothing

• Fred’s uniform should be worn to every session.

• Students should wear a Fred’s T-shirt with black leggings, joggers or shorts.

• Suitable jazz shoes, jazz boots or trainers should be worn for classes.

• Long hair must be tied back.

• For safety reasons, jewellery and unsuitable accessories should not be worn during classes.

• Please clearly label all clothing, shoes and belongings with your child’s name.

• Uniform can be purchased through our official Fred’s uniform supplier.

• Students taking part in performances may be asked to contribute towards costumes, props or other show-related costs. Any additional charges will be communicated to parents/carers in advance.

Classes, Attendance & Behaviour

• We ask all students to commit to regular attendance wherever possible.

• Mobile phones should not be used during class unless permission has been given by a member of the Fred’s team. Phones may be kept safely to one side until the end of the session.

• We want Fred’s to be a happy, welcoming and supportive environment for everyone. Students are expected to treat fellow students, staff and the venue with kindness and respect.

• Bullying, deliberately unkind behaviour or persistent disruption will not be tolerated.

• Where there are ongoing behavioural concerns, we will work with the student and their parent/carer to resolve them. Where necessary, warnings may be issued and, in serious or persistent circumstances, a student's place at Fred’s may be withdrawn.

Photographs & Video Recordings

• Photographs and video recordings may occasionally be taken during classes, rehearsals, workshops and performances for Fred’s promotional purposes, including our website and social media.

• Parents/carers will be given the opportunity to tell us if they do not give permission for their child to be photographed or filmed.

• Please contact us in writing if you wish to change your photography/video permissions.

Performances

• Students may have opportunities to take part in performances, shows, examinations and other special events throughout the year.

• Additional costs may apply for productions, including costumes, props, show fees, examinations, tickets or additional rehearsals. Parents/carers will be informed of these costs in advance.

• Students taking part in a production are expected to attend important rehearsals, technical rehearsals and performances wherever possible.

Personal & Medical Information

• Parents/carers are responsible for ensuring that Fred’s has up-to-date contact and emergency information for their child.

• Please inform us promptly of any changes to your address, telephone number, emergency contacts or relevant medical/additional needs.

• Any information that may affect your child’s participation or the support they require during classes should be shared with us so that we can support them appropriately.
