TERMS AND CONDITIONS
CLASS TIMES/PRICES
A free trial/audition is available to every student on their first day, and is deducted from the first term's fees (below).
ALL MAIN SCHOOL CLASSES RUN ON SATURDAYS IN TERM TIME EXCEPT EXTRA REHEARSALS FOR SHOW WEEK.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
By accepting your place in the show, you are joining the HOT Academy Saturday School and agree to adhere to these terms and conditions which are freely available online and subject to change.
Please respond to your GoCardless direct debit via the email sent to you from Class Manager which will commence just before the 1st of the following month's fees are due.
A one-off payment will be taken imminently upon registration via Gocardless for the current month's payment of sessions. Any free trial/audition or offer is deducted from the current month's fees and the remainder is taken as a one-off direct debit as soon as you sign up. The next payment will be the first automatic Diret Debit which will be taken on or just befo0re 1st of the month.
FEES AND PAYMENT
Termly Fees can be made in equal instalments monthly or termly and are due on the first day of the month or term, respectively.

FEE CALCULATIONS
One term consists of aprox 12 weeks of classes (you get quite a few hours free for show days as we don’t charge extra for those!) One term costs £250 .80 and is split equally across 4 months to keep the monthly cost as affordable and predictable as possible for parents. This is every month INCLUDING HOLIDAYS so you don’t have to stop-start Direct Debits. Eg. based on a single child paying full price, you’ll pay £62.70 per month (one month may only have one lesson in, but equakly you’ll only pay £62.70 for a month with 5 Saturday lessons in of the termly fee). Autumn term's payment is split equally between September, October, November and December, Spring's term's payment is split equally between January, February, March and April, Summer term's payment is split equally between May, June, July and August.

One full HALF term's WRITTEN notice BY EMAIL ONLY is required upon leaving the Academy and must be acknowledged by email by the principal exclusively via the [email protected] email address. We will accept notice on the first day of term (to leave at half term) or during half term holidays (to leave at the end of term). This is payable at full price regardless of attendance, to cover costs of staffing and venue and is taken at the point of registration for those who only wish to stay for one half term in total.
Late fees will incur a £10 late payment fee which increases by £5 each consequent week it is unpaid. The student may be asked to sit out of classes until fees are up to date, unless otherwise agreed. Fees are payable from the week of registration regardless of attendance.
COSTUMES
Costumes for shows are hired out at £15 per character per child per show and will be debited by Gocardless approx. 6 weeks before performance date. You will receive a reminder via our whatsapp group. We aim to keep characters and costumes to a maximum of 1 or 2 per child to keep costs down wherever possible. Any loss or damage is payable by the PARENT/CARER of the child wearing or using the costume, prop, sound equipment, microphone or set. If more than one child uses it, the cost will be split evenly between parents of the children using the item.
On rare occasions, for special events, extra rehearsals may be added, but this will not be exercised without prior agreement from participants, and if requested after signing up to the event, will only be charged enough to cover the venue and teacher fee if necessary.
AUDITIONS
Successful triallists/auditionees who accept their place in the school are subject to all terms and conditions as stated on this page and on the website. Standard fees will be payable, and attendance at Saturday Academy rehearsals is required. You do not have to be a current member of the Academy to audition for any of our productions.
Free trials may still be available if you miss the audition date, at the principal's discretion. Please contact for more information. YOU MUST GIVE YOUR NOTICE ON DAY OF REGISTRATION IF YOU WISH TO LEAVE AT THE END OF ONE HALF-TERM as you will be subject to our ONE FULL HALF-TERM’S WRITTEN NOTICE POLICY (BY EMAIL ONLY) from the start of the first term after you’ve given your written notice.
SHOW WEEKEND WHEN THE SHOW IS AT A ‘BIG THEATRE’
These details often change but this is as a base guideline. PLEASE KEEP THE WHOLE OF SHOW WEEKEND FREE!
Please keep free 5-8PM on the FRIDAY of the show weekend for a possible DRESS REHEARSAL and 10-9pm BOTH Saturday and Sunday the show weekend - not all children will be needed the whole time, but a schedule will be sent out nearer Show Day. They will definitely be needed all day on the show day.
THIS IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE ON A SHOW BY SHOW BASIS. PLEASE KEEP THE WHOLE WEEKEND FREE.
If the show falls on any other day other than a Sunday, dress rehearsal will be 5-8pm (or equivalent) 2 days prior to performance day and Technical rehearsal will be 10-9pm (or equivalent) the day before performance day. Of course necessary breaks and provision is always given to children on longer days in line with Child Protection and Chaperoning laws and guidelines. Please contact us for more information.
Dress rehearsals and technical rehearsals are COMPULSORY FOR THE FULL TIME SCHEDULED.
Please note, there are no ‘comps’ or free tickets available.
Ticket prices contribute to paying for the hire of the venue.
CHAPERONES AND HELPERS
To keep the shows running, we need enough parent helpers backstage. To be fair to all, we require that one adult member of your family is available to Chaperone for at least one 3-hours slot on the show weekend. It may not be required but is often very enjoyable and gives a great insight into what the kids get up to!
DISCOUNTS
TERMLY: 20% discount for the 2nd child in the same family.
20% discount on ALL siblings if 3 or more children are in the same family.

CANCELLATIONS
In the event of a Force Majeure, provided HOT Academy Ltd can offer an alternative provision of classes and performance opportunities, full fees are still chargeable. This includes, but is not limited to HOT Academy Ltd providing online group classes and performances including but not limited to pandemic lockdown, restricted access to venues ie road closure, ‘snow days’ etc. In the event of Force Majeure, all terms and conditions as outlined in this document apply in full, including but not limited to our required notice period.
UNIFORM

Uniform is compulsory and should be worn to every lesson. This includes black leggings/jogging bottoms/jazz pants, red HOT Academy T-shirt, red HOT Academy hoodie (this is vital to cover costumes during shows/rehearsals), and black JAZZ SHOES (not jazz boots, sneakers, trainers, ballet shoes or plimsolls). Jazz shoes are absolutely compulsory for all shows and students will NOT be permitted onstage without the correct ones. This saves you hiring or buying shoes every show!
Uniform is not required for the trial or audition day for new students. Uniform can be purchased directly from us on our website. Hair should be tied back, smart and off the face. Jewellery is not permitted due to safety.
CONDUCT
Attendance is VITAL. Just like any sports team, we require all students to be present each week, to keep our standard high and raise the children’s confidence. Dress rehearsals and technical rehearsals are COMPULSORY FOR THE FULL TIME SCHEDULED.
Mobile phones should be switched off during class, rehearsal & show times due to ‘location’ tracking leading to potential safety risk.
Bad behaviour towards staff and other students, or whilst associated with HOT Academy Ltd in any way may result in immediate and permanent expulsion without refund. Good attendance and punctuality is imperative and will have an impact on casting decisions. Poor attendance or tardiness may result in a student's part being reallocated to another student. Bullying or discrimination of any kind will categorically NOT be tolerated and will be dealt with immediately. In extreme cases, it may lead to expulsion from HOT Academy Ltd.
