Terms & Conditions
Please ensure that you read the terms and conditions before submitting a registration form. These apply to all pupils who attend classes.
Fees:
Fees are due within 7 days of the invoice being sent. It is your responsibility to make sure fees are handed in on time. It is expected that all payments are handed in on time regardless of illness/holidays etc. Fees must be paid every month, the school will close for 7-8 weeks each year which is deducted from your monthly invoice, no personal holidays given. Refunds will be given for any classes that are cancelled. New pupils may pay weekly for 4 weeks until they know they wish to continue then they are required to pay monthly. Students who repeatedly do not pay for classes will be asked to leave the school.
Uniform:
Pupils should arrive in the correct uniform ready for class with their hair tied back off their face or in a bun. Hair should not be worn down for any classes. Pupils should put the correct footwear on outside the studio so that they are ready to start dancing when they come into class.Pupils who wish to continue with the school after 4 weeks will be required to purchase and wear the correct uniform.
Toilet Breaks:
Please make sure your child uses the toilet before class and during breaks in order to minimise disruption during lessons.
Discipline:
Behaviour- Pupils must have mutual respect for other pupils and their teacher at all times. Dancing is fun and to be enjoyed by all. IDA will not tolerate verbal or physical abuse bad behaviour from students or parents. Repeated unacceptable behaviour from Students and or parents will result in you being formally asked to leave, without the right to refund or credit. Any aggression or abuse directed towards our staff will not be tolerated. Aggressive or abusive behaviour includes language (whether verbal or written) that may cause staff to feel afraid, threatened or abused and may include threats, personal verbal abuse, derogatory remarks and rudeness. We also consider inflammatory statements, remarks of a racial or discriminatory nature and unsubstantiated allegations, to be abusive behaviour.
Mobile Phones- Must be turned off or turned onto silent if brought into class.
Jewellery- for safety reasons no jewellery should be worn in class with the exception of stud earrings.
Food & Drink- May not be brought into the dance studio. It is recommended that pupils bring a bottle of water only into class.
Punctuality & Attendance- Pupils should arrive 5-10 minutes before class is due to start. Pupils should try to inform Miss Emily if they are unable to make a lesson. The school reserves the right to dismiss students who continuously miss lessons.
Lost Property:
The school cannot undertake any responsibility for the loss of any money or belongings left during class or left on the premises.
Facilities:
All pupils are asked to respect the facilities that we use at all times. Parents/Guardians are responsible for any damage caused by their child/ren to any facilities used whilst at the school.
Pupils will not be allowed to leave the building at any time during classes unless written permission from the parents/guardians is received. It is the parents/guardians responsibility to make sure their child is collected from class on time.
The school cannot be held responsible for any injury sustained as a result of taking part in any of the activities operated by the school, or is it responsible for any injury, howsoever caused, as a result of being on the premises or where the school activities are taking place.
On signing the registration form and enrolling your child/ren as a member of the school, you agree and fully understand and accept these terms and conditions.
Please ensure any changes in personal information are passed on to the teacher so records can be updated.
Competition Team Terms & Conditions – Applies to all students involved in solos, duets, trios, troupes.
In addition to the general terms and conditions
Competition Fees:
These must be paid for by the date given. Failure to pay on time will result in your child not being entered for their dance/s. I will give you as much notice as possible of fee and date.
Video & Photography:
You are welcome to video your child’s performance on stage or in class however the full routine must NOT be shared over social media under any circumstances. This will prevent other schools, parents, dancers copying choreography and technique. Snippets may be shared.
With regards to photography you do not have permission to take photos of judging line up and post on social media. If you only have IDA students in the picture, then you may ok this with their parent however under no circumstances should you post pictures of students from other schools on your social media accounts. This is something all competitions take seriously and if found to be going against this rule may result in your child and or the school no longer being allowed to attend that competition in the future. Teachers may take photos of the line up for social media purposes. Competition organisers may take photos of line up for social media purposes to promote the competition.
Choreography:
The choreography belongs to IDA. You are not permitted to take the choreography elsewhere. If you would like to perform your dance in an event outside of the school such as a school talent show you must ask your teacher first before doing so.
Attendance:
Attendance in core classes is required to allow your child to compete. Repeatedly missed classes may result in your child being removed from the competition team without the right to refund or credit.
Dancers Code of Conduct
General
· Be kind and polite to everyone in our school and other dance schools
· Be friendly and welcoming to new members
· Always tell a teacher or grown up if somebody is not behaving and following the rules
· Recognise and celebrate good performance and success of fellow dancers and team members.
During Class
· Treat your teachers and fellow dancers with respect
· Tell your teacher if you are finding something difficult
· Try to arrive to class in good time so you can put the correct footwear on and use the toilet before class starts
· Ensure you have the correct footwear and dancewear with you
· Bring plenty of water to class
· Listen to instructions given by your teacher
· Enjoy your classes
Competitions (this applies to comp students only)
· At competitions always be kind, polite and friendly to both your teachers, team mates and members of other competition schools
· You must wear Infinity Dance Academy uniform
· Warm up before going on stage to ensure you are fully prepared. A warm up prepares the mind for the activity you are about to take part in and prepares the body to avoid injury
· Support your team mates. Everyone likes to be supported and they will be supporting you
· Good attendance in class is required to keep your place on the competition team
· Make sure your area of the changing room is clean and tidy when you leave. Put your rubbish in the bin don’t leave it on the floor
· Remember to use inside voices when you are in the changing room, corridors and backstage, no screaming and shouting when you are in the building.
· Have lots of fun
Students and parents should maintain sportsmanlike attitudes at all times towards other team members, parents, staff, dancers and studios at all times. This includes dancers and staff from other studios, etc. You are representing Infinity Dance Academy at any time you are wearing or carrying anything with our logo on it. We will not tolerate poor attitudes or inappropriate conduct at any time.
Parent/Guardians Code of Conduct
Parents are expected to
· Encourage your child to learn and follow the rules
· Help your child to recognise good performance, not just results
· Set a good example by recognising fair play and applauding the good performance of all dancers within the school.
· Support your child’s involvement and help them to enjoy the sport.
· Encourage your child to respect his/her teachers and lead by example
· Raise any queries or concerns in a polite, constructive and non-confrontational manner
· Behave responsibly as a spectator at competitions and treat dancers, teachers and parents or your and other schools with due respect.
The school will undertake to
· Inform you at once if your child is ill and ensure their wellbeing until you are able to collect him/her
· Ensure good child safeguarding guidelines are followed at all times to keep your child safe
· Ensure all activities are properly supervised/taught/coached and consent is obtained for any activity outside of that previously agreed.
Zero Tolerance of Unacceptable Behaviour
Infinity Dance Academy are committed to ensuring that all staff, dancers and parents within the school are able to be in a safe and civil environment. As a school IDA will not tolerate any demeaning, derogatory, abusive, aggressive, threatening or intimidating behaviour towards our staff, dancers and parents. We deem this sort of behaviour totally unacceptable and anybody that behaves in this way will be asked to stop the behaviour immediately and leave the premises. Our policy is one of zero tolerance and a single act of unacceptable behaviour will trigger sanctions which include but are not restricted to:
· Issue of a verbal warning
· Requested to leave the premises
· Requested to not attend any future lessons, competitions or other activities involving the school
· Request to leave the school along with dependants
· Reporting of incidents to the Police and other authorities as appropriate
Infinity Dance Academy consider all persons to be strictly liable for their actions and will not tolerate unacceptable behaviour under any circumstances
