Introduction
JM Dance Studios is committed to protecting your personal information. We provide a safe environment for all our customers and employees both physically and virtually (online). This privacy statement relates to the use of any personal information provided to us online or via application forms, telephone, email, letters or other correspondence.
Whenever you provide such information, we are legally obliged to use your information in line with the current legislation concerning the protection of personal information, including the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and Data Protection Jersey Law 2018.
What information do we have?
When you sign up to any JM Dance Studios classes we will collect and store personal information about you. This information will be stored on our online system and will have enhanced protection and security which cannot be accessed without a log in email and password.
The personal data that we will be collecting may consist of…
- Child’s name
- Child’s Date of Birth
- Email address
- Postal address
- Telephone/Mobile number
- Medical conditions
- Allergies
- Contact preference
- Alternative point of contact
By submitting your details, you enable us to provide you with the information regarding the services that you have selected and provide a safe teaching environment.
How we will collect your information?
Your personal data will be collected through the online ‘register’ link with Classes for Kids. You can provide any information you wish to share with JMDS and once submitted this will be sent directly to us only. We will then need to confirm the information before it is submitted onto our system.
How we will use your personal information?
We will use your information for a number of purposes including:
- to provide you with information about our classes, workshops, activities and to answer your requests and enquiries, including complaints.
- For “service administration purposes”, which means that we may contact you for reasons related to the classes or activity you signed up for (e.g. invoices, or change of details regarding a class you are enrolled in.)
- To contact you about an application you have made
- To post any relevant documents e.g. exam documents
As and when we need to use your personal information for reasons other than the ones specified above we will ensure that we notify you first.
You will be given the opportunity to withhold or withdraw your consent for the use of your personal information for purposes other than those listed above.
JM Dance Studios does NOT share your personal information with any third parties for marketing purposes. We do NOT sell your data, neither do we buy data from third parties.
JM Dance Studios may contact you:
- In relation to any information for the classes you have signed up to
- To remind you of important deadlines and/or renewal notifications.
- In relation to any correspondence we receive from you or any comments or complaints you may have our service.
- To occasionally market products or services that we think may be of interest to you
We will not hold more information than required and will ensure all personal data is kept up to date and used only for specific purpose(s) as outlines above.
Parents responsibility
It is the parent’s responsibility to notify JMDS with any changes to the data they have submitted to ensure all details provided are accurate.
Parents can access their information at any time and can have anything erased or corrected accordingly.
We will keep the information as long as your child is attending JMDS. If your child is withdrawn from classes your personal information will also be deleted.
Parents are welcome to ‘opt out’ in receiving emails from JMDS. Please notify us to request this.
