2. Hair should be in a bun for all syllabus classes and tied up neatly for non syllabus classes.

 Term Dates

1. The Dance School closes for seven weeks of the year-

Two weeks at Easter, three weeks in the Summer and two weeks at Christmas. We remain open during half term holidays.

Term dates are sent by email each year.

Attendance

Regular attendance is expected by all students and is recorded by the class teacher each week. Poor attendance will have a detrimental affect on progress and on ability to partake in exams and school events/shows. You should inform me of any absences by texting me on 07535 650724.

Unplanned School Closures

1. In the case of adverse weather conditions or staff illness which prevent classes from taking place, we will endeavour to provide alternative or replacement classes. There will be no refund of fees.

2. In the case of any future lockdowns, we will revert to a condensed timetable and fees will be payable at 80% of the usual studio fee.

Fees already paid will not be refunded but will be rolled over.

4. Zoom classes will remain optional, but by not participating it must be understood that progress will be affected and therefore a student may not be able to partake in planned events and exams with their peers.

Teacher Absences

1. Where a teacher is unable to teach due to illness, we will endeavour to find a cover teacher. Where this is not possible the class will be rescheduled. There will be no refund of fees, unless the class is cancelled completely.

Exams

Exams are taken at the discretion of the Principal and class teacher and students are only entered when the technical level has been reached.  RAD (Royal Academy of Dance) and ISTD  (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance) exams are regulated by OFQUAL and the higher level exams convert to UCAS points.

It usually necessary to partake in 3-4 extra coaching classes prior to an exam.

Festivals/Competitions

From the age of 8 years students have the option to join our competition team and enter local festivals as well as entering organised championship events. Students must attend 2 ballet classes per week plus two other genres to participate in competitions.

Performance opportunities

The Dance School produces a full scale bi-annual Showcase at a local Theatre with all students being invited to take part.  Students have the opportunity to join our performance group and perform in West end Theatres and other big Theatres around the UK,  as well as other smaller performance opportunities throughout the year.

Workshops/ Holiday clubs

Workshops and holiday clubs are held throughout the year with in house teachers as well as guest teachers.
