Trials
Molesey School of Ballet offers trial classes, providing that spaces are available in the requested class(es). Trial classes are priced at the usual class rate and must be paid in full before attending. Up to 3 trials can be attended before deciding to join a class.
Trial classes are non-refundable. Should a student not be able to attend their trial class, the class might be rescheduled at no extra cost at the discretion of Molesey School of Ballet. A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required to reschedule a trial.
Fees
Fees can be found on the Molesey School of Ballet website:
Welcome to Molesey School Of Ballet
Fees will be reviewed occasionally and may increase with notice.
Children’s classes
Children’s classes are invoiced termly.
Fees should be paid before the due date stated on the invoice. Fees are non refundable, should a student fail to attend their lesson, whether for illness, injury, exclusion for disruptive behaviour or any other reason.
Failure to settle an invoice before half term will incur a 10% late payment charge, to be added to the overdue term fees.
Molesey School of Ballet reserves the right to exclude students from their class(es) until any overdue payment has been received.
Adult classes
Adult classes have the option of being invoiced termly or half termly under the same conditions as children’s classes, or paid on a pay-as-you-go basis.
Any pay-as-you-go class should be paid in full BEFORE the start of the class. Should this not be the case, access to class might be refused or a 10% admin fee will be added. Molesey School of Ballet reserves the right to remove a pay-as-you-go option on any class at any time.
Discounts
Molesey School of Ballet does not offer discounts.
Only customer accounts with discounts in place before September 2025 will be able to keep them for as long as qualifying conditions remain (multiple classes or sibling/family discount), or until reviewed by Molesey School of Ballet. Existing discounts are applicable to termly or half termly fees, but not on trial or pay-as-you-go fees.

End of spring term First day of February half term
May half term First day of summer term
End of summer term First day of May half term
Should a student wish to withdraw from their class(es) temporarily, the same notice conditions apply.
Adult classes
Whilst there isn’t a notice period in place for adult classes, it would be appreciated if any notification of leaving were sent as early as possible, as described above.
Classes cancellation
Should a class be cancelled because of adverse weather conditions, cancellation from the venue, or for any other reason, customers will be notified by text message and/or email.
Should a teacher be unavailable for their scheduled class, a supply teacher might run the class. Should this not be possible, the class will be cancelled. Every effort will be made to reschedule the class to a different date and/or time. No refund can be offered to students who cannot attend the rescheduled class.
If the class cannot be rescheduled, fees will be carried forward to the next term, or refunded should this not be possible.
Should classes not be able to take place in their usual setting for long periods of time, due to lockdown, adverse weather conditions, disease, or any other reason, every effort will be made to offer online classes and students will be expected to take part on the same basis as their usual classes. Molesey School of Ballet terms and conditions will still apply. Online classes will run at the same rate as classes in person. No refund nor discount will be offered. Molesey School of Ballet reserves the right to consider, or not, special circumstances to a customer’s situation as they judge them relevant.
Molesey School of Ballet reserves the right to close any class that might not be viable.
Punctuality
Students should arrive in good time to get ready before their lesson starts.
Any concern regarding repeated instances of lateness will be raised by the teacher or school principal with a customer. Late arrivals to class are disruptive to both the student’s and the rest of the class’s learning.
Absence
Customers should notify Molesey School of Ballet by text message or email when a student cannot attend their class. It would be appreciated if teachers could be made aware in good time of planned absences, such as holidays or events, to allow them to plan lessons accordingly.
Every effort should be made to attend classes. Missed classes hinder not only the student’s, but the rest of the class’s learning and progress.
Unwell or contagious students should not attend their class.
Injured students are invited to come and watch their class, should they be well enough to do so, as they will still be learning by watching and listening to the teacher’s explanations.
Health and safety
In the case of an incident/accident, the appropriate actions will be undertaken by a member of staff. Emergency contact(s) will be informed as soon as possible.
Uniform
No jewellery should be worn during class.
Hair should be neat and tidy, tied back and off the face. Ballet students should endeavour to wear their hair in a bun.
Children’s classes
The uniform list can be consulted on the Molesey School of Ballet website:
Welcome to Molesey School Of Ballet
Students are requested to wear the correct uniform for each class and appropriate footwear (ballet, tap or jazz shoes). Ballet shoes should be well fitted, with the laces tied in a bow and tucked inside the shoes.
Uniforms should be purchased from the Class Manager shop. Please note prices will vary according to suppliers pricing. Purchased items, with the exception of underwear, can be exchanged or refunded, provided that they are unworn and returned in their original packaging with all tags attached. Requests for an exchange or refund must be made within 14 days of receiving the order.
Adult classes
Wearing comfortable clothes such as leggings and t-shirts, and appropriate footwear is recommended.
School rules
Customers, students and anyone accompanying students to classes are expected to be respectful to Molesey School of Ballet staff and to one another. Students are expected to conduct themselves in a disciplined manner whilst attending their class.
No bullying towards Molesey School of Ballet staff or students will be tolerated, whether physical, verbal or online. No discriminatory language will be tolerated. Any such cases, should they occur, should be reported to the principal, who will contact parties involved.
Molesey School of Ballet reserves the right to exclude a student from their class should their behaviour be considered detrimental or disruptive. They also reserve the right to exclude a customer from the school, should their behaviour or actions be detrimental to the school community.
It is recommended that students bring a water bottle, containing water only, to class. No food or chewing gum are to be consumed during class or on the premises.
Please ensure young students are taken to the toilet before class.
Mobile phones should be turned off or silent if brought to class.
No animals are allowed on the premises, with the exception of assistance dogs.
No smoking or vaping is allowed on the premises or grounds.
Exams and moving up a class
Students either move up a class when they have successfully taken an exam, or when their teacher estimates they are ready and can cope with the requirements of the next higher grade class.
Students who have shown commitment and have made regular progress might be invited for external examinations, such as those offered by ISTD (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing).
Watching
We do not encourage parents/guardians to stay with the children in class, although we understand it might be necessary for some of our younger students when they start.
Conditions permitting, Molesey School of Ballet will run a Watching Week at the end of term, when parents can come and watch a class.
Photography and video consent
Students may on occasions be photographed or filmed during lessons, rehearsals or shows. Photographs and videos may be used for marketing purposes for Molesey School of Ballet, including prints, website and social media.
If a customer does not wish photographs or videos of the student to be used for these purposes, they should select ‘No’ to ‘Photographs and videos consent’ on the registration form. This can be updated when access is granted to the online Class Manager portal.
Physical correction
During a lesson, it might be necessary for a teacher to physically assist a student to correct their posture or movements. Teachers will seek approval from the student before making any physical correction.
