Terms and Conditions
Welcome to Momentum School of Dance. These Terms & Conditions govern your use of our services and participation in our classes, programs, and events. By enrolling in or attending classes, you agree to abide by the following terms:
Registration & Fees
- All students must complete an online registration form before attending any classes.
- Class fees must be paid monthly in advance, as specified during registration. Late payments will incur a £10 admin fee to cover administration costs.
- Fees are non-refundable except in exceptional circumstances at the discretion of Momentum School of Dance. In the situation that a class is cancelled, this will be reflected in the following months fees.
- New students are entitled to one paid trial class, subject to availability and prior booking.
Attendance & Punctuality
- Regular attendance is essential for progress. Please inform us of absences in advance where possible.
- Students must arrive on time for classes. Late arrivals may disrupt the session and could result in exclusion from the class. Any student that arrives after the warm-up has ended will be required to spectate the class due to health & safety reasons.
Health & Safety
- It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian (or the student, if over 18) to ensure they are physically fit to participate in dance classes. Any medical conditions must be disclosed during registration.
- Momentum School of Dance and any of its staff members are not liable for injuries sustained during classes, events, or performances. Students are encouraged to warm up appropriately and inform instructors of any concerns/injuries.
- Parents/guardians must provide up-to-date emergency contact details.
- Students must follow instructions from instructors and staff to ensure a safe environment for all participants.
Safety in Acrobatic Dance
- Acrobatic dance classes will always be conducted under the supervision of trained instructors to ensure student safety.
- Students must participate in a thorough warm-up and conditioning exercises before attempting acrobatic movements.
- Proper spotting techniques and safety equipment (such as mats) will be used to minimize the risk of injury.
- Students are required to follow the instructor’s guidance and progress through skills at a safe and appropriate pace.
- Any discomfort or pain must be reported to the instructor immediately. Students must not attempt advanced tricks without approval.
Code of Conduct
- Students, parents, and guardians must show respect to instructors, staff, and fellow students at all times.
- Disruptive or inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated and may result in removal from the class.
- Students must adhere to the dress code for their class. Hair should be neatly tied back, and appropriate footwear must be worn. New starters must purchase the correct uniform for their class after the first 4 weeks of attending the school.
- Momentum School of Dance is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Please ensure all belongings are clearly labelled.
Dance Class Uniform
- All students are required to wear the designated uniform for their class. Details of the uniform for each class & level is available on our website. Uniform can also be purchased via our website.
- Appropriate dance shoes must be worn for each class type.
- Hair must be neatly styled into a classical bun with no fringes. Mid-length hair should be secured back with a headband.
- Failure to adhere to the uniform policy may result in the student being unable to participate in the class.
Photography & Media
- If you have selected ‘yes’ on your registration form for photo/video consent, these will only be used for marketing and performance use. You have the right to revoke this consent at any time by speaking to your class teacher/contacting us via email.
- Parents/guardians are not permitted to film or photograph classes.
Recitals & Events
- Students participating in recitals or performances must attend all scheduled rehearsals and costume fittings.
- Additional fees may apply for costumes, tickets, or event participation. These will be communicated in advance.
- All attendees are expected to uphold the school’s standards of behaviour at public performances.
Termination & Withdrawal
- 30 days' written notice is required for withdrawal from classes. Failure to provide us with this notice will result in fees still being charged for this period.
- The school reserves the right to terminate a student’s enrolment due to non-compliance with these terms or inappropriate behaviour.
Liability
- Momentum School of Dance is not responsible for any personal injuries, accidents, or loss of personal property that occur on the premises or during events.
- Students participate at their own risk.
Amendments
Momentum School of Dance reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions at any time. Notice of changes will be provided via email and on our website.
