NCD TERMS AND CONDITIONS
At NCD, we're not just a dance school; we are a community that thrives on fun and friendliness. We offer easy-to-follow dance lessons designed to boost your child's confidence and equip them with valuable skills through dance.
Our approach places a strong emphasis on your child's mental well-being and social development. We believe in nurturing their self-assurance, encouraging their performance abilities, and fostering peer friendships. Our classes are thoughtfully designed to accommodate children not only by age but by ability as well.
NCD is much more than being an inclusive and friendly school, we are a family and believe in the importance and benefit of the arts for our children. Our classes are designed to support children in embracing their individuality, encourage self-expression and to grow in confidence. We are committed to providing a fun nurturing environment and welcome all children to dance with us irrespective of their demographic, age, gender, race, or abilities, We always promote the safety of all students in our classes and believe that everybody has the capacity and the right to dance, train and perform, making NCD the ideal place for your child.
We are committed to not holding any child back. If we observe that a child's skills surpass their age group, with parental consent, we will place them in the appropriate group that aligns with their level. At NCD, it's all about empowering children to reach their full potential while ensuring they enjoy every step of their dance journey.
To ensure we maintain this and NCD runs smoothly, safely and successfully, we ask that parents read and agree to our Terms and Conditions before enrolling.

FEE PAYMENTS
NCD operates on a simple all in one automated payment system to provide parents with the ease of smaller monthly payments. Tuition fees cover a guaranteed minimum 30 classes per year which are scheduled between September – July. Your tuition payment will be the same every month over a 10 month period and does not change. If we are closed for a holiday on our event calendar, please remember that this has already been taken into account.
An automated payment will be charged on the 25th of each month.
NCD Monthly Packages
Bronze: £45 - 1 class
Silver: £80 - 2 classes
Gold: £125 - unlimited classes
All fees will be reviewed annually
REGISTRATION FEE
Each child must be registered separately
A registration fee of £30 per child will be charged annually
SHOW FEE
An all-in-one show fee will be charged on 1st Feb. The amount of this fee will depend on the classes your child is enrolled in and how many show pieces they are in.
ADDED WORKSHOPS
All added workshops are charged separately. If you are enrolled in our unlimited package, you will receive two free workshops per season or one free workshop if you are a silver member.
REFUNDS
No refunds will be given once the term has commenced or for non-attendance, holidays, or sickness. The same applies if we have commenced show work and purchased costumes, no refund for the costumes or show fee will be given for students leaving NCD. You will however be asked to take home any costumes you have paid for.
DECLINED PAYMENTS
Any declined payments will be given 7 days before we take payment again. If payment is declined a second time, there will be a £10 charge.
NOTICE PERIOD - WITHDRAWAL FROM NCD CLASSES
If a student wishes to leave the school, we require written notice via email to [email protected] four weeks before the payment date. You will be asked to complete and submit a withdrawal form. If we do not receive this form back 4 weeks prior to withdrawing payment will still be charged for that month.
TEACHER RESPONSIBILITY
• All teachers hold formal dance qualifications or will be assisted by a qualified teacher at all times who possess an Enhanced DBS and have valid Public Liability Insurance. They are also familiar with our NCD Safeguarding Policy, Risk Assessment, Health & Safety Policy, and Terms & Conditions.
• All lead teachers have a Paediatric First Aid Certificate and as such there will always be a First Aid trained teacher on site. The First Aid Kit will be in the main hall cupboard and all teachers are to report any incidents to Naomi and record in the First Aid Incident Record book. Any incidents will be communicated to parents immediately or after the class.
• Our ethos is very much focused on increasing the student's ability, their confidence and providing a safe environment to learn and express themselves. All teachers will always behave in a professional, supportive, and encouraging manner and work to get the best out of students.
• All teachers will communicate with parents where appropriate, after class or via email or telephone. Naomi will regularly communicate via Class Manager, WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram on NCD events, updates, performances, exams, timetable, and any other matters relating to the students and the school.
• Physical contact may be necessary when a teacher is helping a student to correct a position or to support technique. This is conducted with professionalism and at the consent of the student.
• All teachers will be on time for their classes and contact Naomi if there is a problem.
• All teachers will prioritise the needs of the student.
• Where possible there will always be more than one adult present when teaching.
• When assisting young students with going to the toilet, the teacher will always allow the student to do this independently except in the case of our preschool students where a teacher will wait directly outside in the corridor and only assist with care if needed or in an emergency.
• All teachers will always behave appropriately and professionally, listen and respect all children, avoid favouritism and respect diversity.
• Teachers will always respect that they are in a position of trust and will report to Naomi the Safeguarding Designated Officer, if they have any concerns about a student or students' behaviour.
All teachers will leave the premises clean and tidy.
All teachers will adhere to our Risk Assessment and NCD Policies at all times.
STUDENT AND PARENT RESPONSIBILITY
Enrolment into and attendance to our classes is seen as acceptance of these Terms and Conditions
STUDENTS
Impeccable and respectful behaviour with good manners at all times
Attend lessons in the correct uniform and appropriate footwear
Have hair tied back neatly at all times
No jewellery to be worn
Students must attend classes with a water bottle to keep hydrated.
Arrive promptly to lessons unless there is an adequate reason
Students will not be allowed into our lessons if they are 10 minutes late without warming up sufficiently to avoid risk of injury or lateness has been agreed with Naomi.
Always behave in a respectful manner towards teachers and fellow students. Any rude or disruptive behaviour to other students, parents or teachers will not be tolerated. If a child behaves in such a way, they will be asked to sit out of the class and their parents/carer will be contacted to collect them immediately. This will be followed up with a parent to resolve. NCD is a family, we all respect and support one another, verbal or physical aggression and discriminatory behaviour will not be tolerated and will result in immediate dismissal.
Students should listen and follow instruction and communicate with teachers if unsure of the instruction or expectation.
Attend additional exam classes, extra show and performance rehearsals where appropriate.
Take care of personal belongings.
PARENTS
• Support excellent attendance and notify NCD if your child cannot attend a lesson or rehearsal.
Make sure automated payments can be paid on the given date.
Enrol on our Class Manger Parents Portal and keep yours and your child’s details up to date
Seek prior agreement from NCD and parents to post photographs or videos linked to NCD on social media. Only photos or videos of your own child will be allowed.
Tick all the relevant boxes regarding consent for your child to be photographed and or videoed in the Student Contact Information Form. Please speak with Naomi if you have any concerns.
Inform NCD or class teacher if your child has sustained an injury or illness that may impact upon their participation.
Do not approach teachers in between classes unless it is urgent (i.e. to inform of an injury, illness or change of parent collecting). Please email all queries to [email protected] or Denny Email: [email protected] who will help you and contact the teachers where necessary.

Respond to correspondence when asked to do so.
Prior to or following classes, please ensure your child respects the environment of our community hall or school hall that they are safe, and any rubbish is tidied away in the bins provided.
Please collect your child on time. No children will be allowed to leave the class until they have been collected safely from a known adult. If a different person is collecting, please let Naomi or Denny know.
Teachers are not responsible for children prior or after classes. Please ensure your children are lined up quietly and safely before class and are promptly collected.
CHAPERONE RESPONSIBILITIES
Our Chaperones for the younger classes are Denny, Steph, Hermiyone (18yrs) Sumi (16yrs) and Eva (14yrs) all have been with us for several years attending classes and are trusted with our younger children. Their main role is to support the teacher and ensure the children are safe and happy and offer help when needed. Hermiyone, Sumi and Eva now also teach for NCD and are always guided by Naomi who is present at all classes.
Chaperones will always arrive 10 minutes before the class starts, be in the correct attire, footwear and hair tidy.
Chaperones will assist the teacher with the arrival of children and help with any belongings and water bottles and guide the children to the designated place to await the class commencing
Chaperones will always show an interest towards the children, encourage inclusiveness and greet all children and parents positively
Chaperones should always follow the teacher’s lead and maintaina high level of energy, enthusiasm and engagement throughout
Chaperones will support the teacher with directing the children with where to go, e.g., corner work and freestyle circle etc, and encourage the children to listen to the teacher.
Chaperones must notify the teacher immediately if there is a problem or a child needs assistance.
Accompany our younger children to the toilet and do so with professionalism. Always encouraging independence and only stepping in if the child’s needs assistance or in an emergency.
If a child reveals information to a Chaperone that is uncomfortable or they know is wrong, they must notify the teacher straight away
Support our younger children with performances.
Always lead by example and be a positive role model for our children and the wider NCD community.
BELONGINGS
No responsibility is accepted by NCD for any items lost or damaged, whether inside or outside of the class or in the changing room and toilets or at the annual show.
CANCELLATIONS
NCD reserves the right to cancel a class or change the venue. Parents will be informed of this as soon as possible via the Classmanager email.
No classes will be held on public holidays and all classes will run term time only.
TIMETABLE
Our children’s timetable is published on our website. You will be given timetable information upon your initial contact and can make enquiries with Naomi regarding other classes. Please be aware that the timetable is subject to change. We will keep parents informed of any schedule adjustments to ensure everyone stays updated.
CLASSES OUTSIDE NCD
We encourage students to engage in activities they want to do and that make them happy. We will not refuse children to join our school or ask them to leave if they are taking dance lessons elsewhere. Our school has and will always be child led and what makes our children happy. However, if your child would like to be part of our show then we would expect them to be fully committed and our classes and rehearsals must take preference during the rehearsal period and run up to the show.
CONTEMPORARY AND STREET DANCE EXAMS
Our policy for entering students for their NATD professional examinations is done so with much consideration and care for each child. Decisions are based on students reaching the required standard and beyond for each grade and not always on previous results or length of time within that grade. Please be advised of this policy during the examination selection procedure.
EXAM FEES
Exam fees will be charged once the student has been registered for an exam. Fees are dependent on which exam level the student is taking and will be charged on registration.
UNIFORM
All uniform is only available online from http://www.crazyaunt.co.uk/
Uniforms for each class can be found on our website under the chosen class
WATCHING WEEK
the discretion of the teacher during watching week. Parents are advised to sit in on the class to observe and refrain from assisting their children or get involved, unless invited by the teacher.
SHOW / PERFORMANCES
All our shows and some performances will require a fee. This includes extra rehearsal time, theatre hire, theatre staff, costumes and administration. The show fee will be automatically deducted on the 1st of February. The cost will depend on the amount of classes taken and amount of show pieces they are in. Attendance is always important, however upon commencement and lead up to a show/performance, attendance is paramount. Parents will be asked to complete our NCD Kids Show/Performance Registration Form indicating if your child can attend and to record any dates your child cannot commit to.
