Next Step School of Dance Terms & Conditions
Please find below our full terms and conditions. By completing the registration found on class manager to enrol your child with the dance school, you are hereby agreeing to the terms and conditions detailed below.
1) PAYMENT
a) Invoices for timetabled classes will be emailed out two weeks prior to the 4 week block starting.
b) Payments can be made by cash, bank transfer or standing order.
c) All Accounts must be settled by the start date of the block. This gives settlement period of 2 weeks.
d) We reserve the right to suspend your child’s classes until any overdue payments have been received. No payment, no classes. Your child will be asked to sit out of classes until payment has been made or they have been collected.
e) Statements are available at any time by contacting the Principal.
f) If your child’s free trial falls after the start of the 4 week block, you will be invoiced after their trial and payment should be made before attending class the following week.
2) CREDIT NOTES
a) Credit notes are issued to cover circumstances such as cancelled classes or long term absence through injury or illness. All credit notes are deducted from the following months invoice.
b) Fees are not waived in respect of family holidays, school trips or short term sickness or injury.
c) Instances of long term sickness or injury will be assessed on an individual basis.
3) CANCELLATION OF CLASSES
a) Occasionally it is necessary to temporarily cancel a class and postpone it to a later date. Where this occurs Next Step School of Dance will try to notify parents either by
facebook page, text, email or word of mouth.
b) We reserve the right to cancel any classes any time up to and including the date the class starts. Should this occur we will endeavour to give you as much notice as possible via the facebook page, text or email and a credit note will be raised.
4) TERMINATION OF CLASSES
a) If a pupil wishes to give up a class, Next Step School of Dance must receive written notice.
b) Fees will be expected to be paid until the end of the current month.
c) In the event of a pupil leaving with fees still outstanding, Next Step School of Dance reserve the right to pursue recovery of the debt by all legal means including court action.
5) UNIFORM
a) appropriate clothing suitable for dance must be worn – ideally the Next Step School of Dance logo uniform. Any clothing not appropriate for dance will be asked to be removed.
b) Clean, appropriate shoes must be worn within the dance studio. Inappropriate shoes will be asked to be removed.
c) no jewellery should be worn in class with the exception of small stud earrings. All other jewellery will be asked to be removed.
6)Next Step LIABILITIES
a) Please be aware that due to the nature of dance and for your child's growth, development and safety it will be necessary at times to engage in physical contact with your child. This will always be done in an appropriate manner and with your child’s best interests in mind.
b)Next Step School of Dance staff attempt to minimise any risk of personal injury within practical boundaries, however accidents do happen and all physical activities carry the risk of personal injury.
c) All students and guardians acknowledge that while every care and safety measure will be taken, there is an inherent risk of personal injury in physical activities that will be undertaken at the studio as part of the programme and accept that risk.
d) Next Step School of Dance do not accept any responsibility for loss or damage to personal property.
e) Next Step School of Dance do not accept responsibility for any loss or expense due to circumstances beyond our control.
d) Next Step School of Dance is only responsible for pupils while they are in their class. Children cannot be supervised whilst they are outside class. Young children must be collected promptly at the end of their class.
f) Next Step School of Dance holds Public Liability Insurance.
7) MISCELLANEOUS
a) All teachers are trained, PVG checked and insured.
b) The safeguarding of children is of paramount importance. On school events, if parents are not present, then Next Step School of Dance staff will be the responsible adults.
c) Any changes to these Terms and Conditions will be announced via email.
8) RESPONSIBILITIES OF PARENT OR GUARDIAN
a) These terms and conditions, and any enrolment forms you have accepted, constitute an agreement between you and Next Step School of Dance in connection to classes or any services superseding any prior agreement.
b) Attendance at class is deemed to be acceptance of the current Terms and Conditions.
c) It is the responsibility of the Parent or Guardian to notify Next Step School of Dance of any illness or injury that may affect the child’s participation at class.
d) It is the responsibility of the Parent or Guardian to ensure that we have the correct details for you and your child and keep us updated of any changes to health.
e) It is the responsibility of the Parent or Guardian to regularly read the email/ text/facebook information and/or the notices in studio entrance in order to be fully aware of all upcoming events.
f) In the event that we consider you to be in breech of these terms & conditions or that your child is disruptive to other pupils or staff, teachers or venue staff, we reserve the right to exclude your child from any activity within the school.
g) Please retain all payment receipts. Where there is a dispute, if the Parent or Guardian cannot provide proof of payment, they must accept Next Step School of Dance records.
h) parents and pupils must be respectful to our neighbours and arrive & leave responsibly.
i) Photographs and video footage of pupils taken by Next Step School of Dance may be used on our social media
and for publicity purposes. If you do not wish your child’s image to be used for these purposes you must inform us upon registering.
8)Data Protection
a) Next Step School of Dance is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. We only use personal information if we have an appropriate reason (lawful basis) to do so and this includes sharing information outside Next Step School of Dance.
b)We review how long we keep personal information on a regular basis. We are legally required to hold some types of information to fulfil our statutory obligations. We hold your personal information on our systems for only as long as is necessary for the relevant activity.
c) Please be reassured that we will not release your information to other organisations unless in exceptional cases when we are required to do so by law. In all other instances we would only share your information with another party, if you have given your explicit permission to do so.
