MH Academy of Performing Arts Terms and Conditions of Membership

MH Academy of Performing Arts Terms and Conditions aim to present a fair sustainable structure to all. We aim to provide the highest quality classes for all our customers.

We are committed to the safety of all persons who attend our lessons and to deliver the highest standard of service.

Participating in a MH Academy of Performing Arts class is entirely at your own risk without any proven negligence, breach of duty of care or lack of due diligence by MH Academy of Performing Arts.  MH Academy of Performing Arts employees and/or contractors will not assume responsibility for any bodily or personal injury consisting of or arising out of any participation in any physical training or athletic activity.


REGISTRATION AND DATA PROTECTION

The information we require upon registration contains personal data. MH Academy of Performing Arts will record, process and keep your personal information secure in accordance with General Data Protection. If your child is taking an IDTA, LCM or RSL exams these boards will require the child’s name, DOB and ethnicity. Our local council will also require this information if your child takes part in our shows to issue a Child Performance License


FEES AND PAYMENT METHODS

Fees are billed Monthly in advance and are payable no later than the 10th of each month. If your child turns up to class without the fee having been paid, and unless you have a prior agreement with MH Academy of Performing Arts regarding fee payment, they will not be allowed to participate.

Invoices will be provided monthly to your E-Mail address or via the Class Manager App, Payment is via bank transfer, cash or card (subject to a small processing fee). Cash must be handed to admin staff with child's name provided so it can be logged on Class Manager.

Receipt of payment will be emailed once your invoice is paid in full.

All students must be registered for the classes they attend. Unregistered children will not be allowed to participate in the class.


PHYSICAL CONTACT

From time to time it is necessary for the teachers to use physical contact when helping to improve pupils’ posture or assist in movements. This includes physical contact between students i.e. holding hands.


ACRODANCE CLASSES

Participating in acrobatic dance involves inherent risks and hazards. By participating in this class you freely accept and fully assume all such risks, dangers, and hazards and the possibility of personal injury or loss resulting from such risks and hazards.


FIRST AID

We always have a first aider on site in our classes who will provide basic first aid. By agreeing to these terms and conditions you authorise MH Academy of Performing Arts to seek medical services in case of serious injury or illness if you cannot be contacted.


UNIFORM AND APPEARANCE

Pupils are required to attend class wearing the correct uniform and hair style. Students who compete externally from the studio are required to purchase a copy of our competition uniform. Uniform orders can be placed via our store. Failure to wear appropriate uniform may result in your child not being able to take part in lessons.


VIDEOS AND PHOTOGRAPHS

In our Tots Classes –  We love you taking pictures or videos of your children during class provided it doesn’t interfere with the class. Please always be sensitive of taking pictures of others without their permission. The videos and photos must only contain your child. Please do not post anything onto social media which contains any child other than your own. If you are asked to stop, please do respect the rights of others.
In addition, if the Class Teacher feels that the amount of video is excessive, not just short clips, then you may be asked to stop.

For all classes – Photographs and videos for our website, press, promotional development, class development and our social media pages, alongside professional recordings of shows may be taken from time to time in class or shows by a third party or by your child’s teacher, possibly shared amongst our team as a teaching resource. By agreeing to these terms and conditions you understand you are consenting for your child to be part of this and allowing these images to be possibly posted online.

Pupils are forbidden to take photos, videos or audio recordings in class without the teachers consent. If consent is given, then they are only to be used as a learning resource and never posted to any social media pages or shared with others outside of the class. Please make your child aware of this. Failure to follow these rules may result in disciplinary action being taken against the student.

All Photographs taken by MH Academy of Performing Arts representatives shall remain the property of MH Academy of Performing Arts.

Any photographs that are used for marketing, website design, social media posts etc. shall be done so at the discretion of the Company.

No financial compensation shall be provided what so ever for use of photographs taken by MH Academy of Performing Arts or its Representatives.


REFUNDS, HOLIDAYS AND SICKNESS POLICY

Regrettably we cannot offer refunds to cover your booked holidays, illness or any other reason why you may miss a class or workshop, due to the need to ensure continuity of service.

Should any pupil wish to discontinue any class or leave the school, refunds for any unused classes will not be given.


SUPERVISION AND WITHDRAWAL OF SERVICE

MH Academy of Performing Arts endeavour to ensure that your children are dancing in a safe and comfortable environment. We ask you to bring and collect your child promptly and provide us with emailed details of changes in drop off/pick up arrangements, special medical needs etc.

In our Tots classes all children when not in class must be supervised at all times and not left unattended. The Class Teacher cannot be responsible for a child at any time when not in lessons.

Please note: All children under the age of 3 must have a parent or guardian present on the premises at all times when not in lessons.

For the rest of our classes– If your wish for your child to wait unattended on our premises for a class, we cannot be held responsible for them. We cannot be held responsible for pupils outside of our class. e.g. if you wish for your child to go home unsupervised, that is your responsibility.

Should a pupil, carer or associated visitor behave in a way that the Class Teacher feels is unreasonable or a serious breach of the school’s terms and condition or any other serious misconduct then MH Academy of Performing Arts reserves the rights to withdraw the provision of classes to the client without notice and without refund of paid fees.


RENEWALS

We will assume you will be continuing with our classes each term unless we are informed otherwise, by email, phone or in person.


CANCELLATION OF CLASSES POLICY

MH Academy of Performing Arts will endeavour to run classes during bad weather e.g. snowy conditions. However, should we need to cancel due to safety concerns, parents will be notified/contacted via Social Media and our Class Manager App or Teams. It is the parent’s responsibility to check these regularly to ensure you have the most accurate and up to date information as it is published.
An additional class will be offered if we have to cancel a class or refund against a future term’s fees. Regrettably, we cannot automatically offer cash refunds.


EXAMS

MH Academy of Performing Arts will work towards IDTA, LCM and/ or RSL exams. Pupils will only be entered when they have reached the required standard decided by the teacher. Pupils taking Grade exams will be required to attend a compulsory additional rehearsal classes in the term leading up to the exam.  Parents will be notified at the appropriate time.  MH Academy of Performing Arts has the right to withdraw any pupil from an examination at any stage. Fees for exams must be paid by the deadline on the invoice or the student may be withdrawn from their exam.


DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

Any intentional damage to property belonging to the school shall be chargeable to the parent/ student who caused such damage. Additionally, if a parent/ student being a visitor to the school they accept responsibility for their actions and assumes liability to repair/ replace and damage caused.

In instances of accidental damage this shall be reviewed by the Principal upon collection of evidence and a decision as to if the perpetrator of any damage cause should be help responsible for its repair.

If damage caused is severe or done maliciously the police may be called and action pursued through the justice system.


ILLNESS

Parents are asked to keep their children at home if they have a serious infection and to inform MH Academy of Performing Arts as to the nature of the infection so that other parents can be alerted.
Please keep your child at home if he/she:

We cannot offer refunds for lessons missed due to illness.

MH Academy of Performing Arts has a commitment to ensure that the equipment and activities are value and worth to everyone regardless of race, culture, language, gender, age, experience, religion, background, ability or disability.


PROTECTION OF PROPERTY

MH Academy of Performing Arts cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage to personal items brought or left on the premises. You assume full responsibility for your own personal possessions.


HEALTH & SAFETY AND HYGIENE POLICIES

MH Academy of Performing Arts follows rigorous internal checks of the venue and its own equipment to ensure that they are clean and safe. Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic these routines have now been expanded further as contained in the Covid-19 Risk Assessment.

CHANGES TO TERMS AND CONDITIONS
MH Academy of Performing Arts from time to time updates these T&Cs. It will inform you of changes through regular channels of communication and you have 14 days to opt out of accepting changes in writing. MH Academy of Performing Arts will treat this agreement with you as being accepted if you fail to contact us stating otherwise.

 

By enrolling my son/daughter into MH Academy of Performing Arts Classes, I confirm that I accept the above terms and conditions/policies.
