We reserve the right at any time during the term to ask a student to leave a class if any fees

the contact details you supply to us and may also include information on examinations, courses
and student records. Performers College Juniors will not disclose your information to third parties

Examinations
- Performers College Juniors follow the ISTD syllabus and hold examination sessions a minimum
of twice a year.
- All students are invited to take exams, but only when their teacher(s) feels they are ready and are
confident they will receive an adequate mark.
All examinations are an additional cost (price depends on the level of the exam) and will be
invoiced to you in the usual way.
- The examination fee must be paid in full, which is due upon receipt of your invoice.
- Entry to the examination will not be made until full payment and confirmation email are received.
- Failure to pay the fee within 2 weeks will result in non-entry to the examination.
- The examination fees are non-refundable from Performers College Juniors under any
circumstances. The ISTD examining body may consider some cases and part refund the fee or
give credit towards the next examination should a valid doctors certificate be produced to support
any non-attendance/sickness at the time of the examination.
Exam Coaching
- Your child’s teacher may decide they need extra coaching lessons in the lead up to the exam.
These will be organised direct through your child’s teacher and must be paid for at the usual price
(30 mins - £5, 45 mins - £6, 60 mins - £7).
- There will also be an ‘exam rehearsal’ which all exam candidates MUST attend. This is usually
held the week before the exam and gives the candidates an idea of how their exam will run, so
they feel fully prepared for exam day.
- You will be invoiced for any extra exam coaching and your child’s exam rehearsal together.
These must be paid BEFORE any extra lessons take place.
Bi-Annual Productions
Performers College Juniors alternate each year between a large production at the Towngate
Theatre in Basildon and a small in-house Choreographic Competition & Showcase at Performers
College. All students are invited to participate in the large production. A ‘Production Fee’ of £30
per student is required to secure their place in the show.
Generally, students aged 7+ are invited to participate in the Choreographic Competition &
Showcase. Entry fee’s are required if students wish to participate in the Competition section.
Details of which are sent around the time of the event.
Whilst both events are optional, performing on a stage to a live audience plays a huge part in a
young students training and we do encourage all students to take part where possible.
Copyright/Intellectual Property
Any class work routines, festival dances and examination or audition solos remain the property of
Performers College Juniors. They cannot be performed, posted to social media or copied without
permission from the relevant teacher. If permission is given, then credit must be given to the
Choreographer via social media ‘tag’ or written in the programme (where applicable).
Changes to the terms and conditions
Performers College Juniors reserves the right to change these terms and conditions at any time
providing one term’s notice is given to students.
CHILD PROTECTION & SAFEGUARDING
Performers College Juniors believes that it is always unacceptable for a child or young adult to experience abuse of any kind and recognises it's responsibility to safeguard the welfare of all children and young people, by a commitment to practice a good solid system of safeguarding.
We recognise that:
- The welfare of the child/young person is paramount
- All children and young people regardless of age, disability, gender, racial heritage, religious belief, sexual orientation or identity, have the right to equal protection from all types of harm and abuse.
- Students and staff need to feel confident that they can study and work in an environment where they feel safe, respected and listened to, and where they can be confident to speak out and know they will be heard.
The purpose of the policy:
- To provide protection for children and young people who attend Performers College Juniors.
- To provide staff with guidance on procedures they should adopt in the event that they suspect a child or young person may be experiencing, or be at risk of harm.
The policy applies to all staff and students, and anyone working on behalf of Performers College Juniors.
We seek to safeguard children and young people by:
- Valuing them, listening to and respecting them.
- Recruiting staff safely, ensuring all necessary checks are made, and that key members of staff receive the appropriate training in Safer Recruitment.
- Sharing information about safeguarding and good practice with staff and students.
- Providing effective management for staff through support and training.
Performers College Juniors Designated Safeguarding Lead is Aimee Dwight and all incidents and concerns should be reported to her. The Designated Safeguarding Lead is responsible for monitoring and managing incidents or concerns and leasing with the relevant safeguarding agencies. Performers College Juniors aims to meet legislative requirements and good practice in safeguarding.
We are committed to reviewing our policy and good practice annually.
SAFETY & SECURITY
At Performers College Juniors, the safety of our students remains our highest priority. Therefore, we have enhanced safety measures in place to ensure a secure environment at all times.
Campus Access
-The only way to gain access onto the grounds of Performers College is via the Paxton Key app. This must be downloaded onto the phone of the adult that will be dropping/collecting the student(s) to their class. Please contact the Manager should you need guidance on signing up to the app.
-A security camera has been installed at the front gate with a screen at Reception for a visual recognition of who is gaining access should the app not permit you access for any reason.
-Entry doors to all buildings must be kept shut at all times and the only way to gain access is via a keycard. If there is no-one inside the building to open the door internally, please head to the main reception where they will be able to help.
General Protocols
-All classes are usually held in the 'Pre-Voc' block at the back of the main building. All students must wait with an adult at the picnic tables until a member of staff lets them into the studio.
-Staff will not hand a student over until they see a recognised adult to collect them.
-Should an adult not be present at the end of class, the student will be taken back to the studio with their teacher until someone arrives and is not permitted to wait outside alone. Please email [email protected] or message on the portal at your earliest convenience should you know you are going to be late.
-Students of secondary school age are able to walk to meet their adult in the car park providing permission has been given by the adult.
-There are multiple internal and external CCTV cameras throughout the campus to ensure the safety of students and staff on site.
-The campus carpark is used by a local football club at weekends, so the security gate will be open on a Saturday. However, we will continue to enforce our safety measurements diligently.
Emergency Procedures
In an emergency, teachers are instructed to secure students in their respective rooms until it is safe to release them (usual fire evacuation procedures will be followed should the emergency be a fire). This measure is in place to ensure the highest level of safety and to respond promptly to any incidents.
We appreciate the cooperation and understanding of our students, parents and staff as we implement these safety measures. Our goal is to create a safe and nurturing environment where everyone can focus on their growth and learning without concerns for their safety.
Thank you for your continued support and trust in Performers College Juniors.
