Stummer Studio Terms and Conditions
Discounts apply per student and are calculated based on the number of regular classes taken per week.
Competition (Comp) Classes are excluded from this discount structure and are charged separately.
Discounts apply only to regularly scheduled classes and do not extend to special workshops, private lessons, or one-off events.
All class fees are payable at the beginning of each term.
A late payment fee of $30.00 may be applied if fees are not paid within 7 days of the due date, unless prior arrangements have been made.
No refunds or credits will be issued for missed classes.
4. Enrolment Policy:
Students are expected to enrol for the full year and will be invoiced per school term.
All students will incur a one-time sign up fee of $30 per child, covering APRA licensing, insurance, and administration costs.
5. Trial Classes:
New students are welcome to attend a trial class at the applicable rate. If the student enrols, the trial class fee will be applied toward their first payment.
6. Withdrawal Policy:
To withdraw mid-term, students must provide two weeks’ notice in writing. Refunds for unused classes are at the discretion of Stummer Studio management and may incur an administrative fee.
7. Cancellation/Refund Policy:
If a student wishes to un-enroll during the year, written notice is required.
Families planning to be away for an extended period must provide written notice at the beginning of the year. Deductions will only be applied for absences longer than 3 weeks.
Missed classes cannot be made up, and refunds will not be issued for missed classes.
8. Injury/Medical Policy:
All medical conditions must be reported to Stummer Studio prior to the student's first class.
Students are responsible for informing their teacher of any injuries prior to or during class.
Stummer Studio is not liable for any loss or damage of property or physical injuries sustained during classes or related activities.
A First Aid kit is available on-site during classes.
9. Liability Waiver:
By enrolling in any class, students and/or their guardians accept that participation in dance involves some risk of injury. Stummer Studio is not liable for any injuries sustained during classes, performances, or related events.
10. Code of Conduct:
Students are expected to arrive on time, in appropriate dance attire, and ready to participate.
Respectful behaviour towards instructors, fellow students, and studio property is required at all times.
Disrespectful or disruptive behaviour by students or parents will not be tolerated. Stummer Studio reserves the right to terminate enrolment for any student or family whose conduct is deemed inappropriate or harmful to the studio environment.
11. Studio Closures:
In the event of unforeseen closures (e.g., severe weather, public health issues), Stummer Studio will attempt to reschedule missed classes. No refunds will be issued for these closures.
12. Concert/Costume Policy:
Participation in the end-of-year performance is compulsory for all students.
Extra rehearsals are required, and a concert levy will be charged in Terms 3 and 4 to cover rehearsal costs, theatre hire, medals, and dress rehearsals.
Costume hire fees are non-refundable. If a student un-enrolls after Term 2, parents may be liable for the balance of any outstanding costume fees.
13. Marketing Policy:
Stummer Studio may use student names and photos for marketing purposes, including the website, social media, advertising, and concert programs.
Students/parents not wishing to participate in marketing must notify Stummer Studio in writing prior to the start of classes.
14. Right to Amend:
Stummer Studio reserves the right to amend class fees, schedules, and policies at any time. Any changes will be communicated to students/parents in advance.
15. Heat Policy – Modified Classes Over 38°C
When temperatures exceed 38°C, classes will continue at a modified level to ensure the comfort and safety of all participants. Activities will be adjusted to reduce intensity, with increased rest breaks and hydration.
Air conditioning and fans will be used to maintain a cool environment, and students will be encouraged to drink water frequently. Icy poles will be provided to help with cooling. Staff will monitor for any signs of heat-related discomfort and take necessary action if needed.
Students and parents will be notified in advance of high temperatures, and any major schedule changes will be communicated promptly. Your cooperation in following these measures is appreciated.

Stummer Studio Behaviour Code of Conduct
At Stummer Studio, our mission is to create a safe, inclusive, and positive environment where students can grow, express themselves, and enjoy their love of dance. To ensure this, we have established the following Behaviour Code of Conduct, which applies to all students, parents, and guardians. These guidelines are designed to foster respect, kindness, and a sense of community.
Code of Conduct for Students
Respect for Others:
Treat peers, teachers, and staff with respect at all times.
Avoid engaging in any behaviour that could be perceived as bullying, harassment, or exclusion, whether verbal, physical, or online.
Be supportive and encouraging to fellow students in class and performances.
Commitment to a Positive Environment:
Maintain a positive attitude and contribute to a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere in the studio.
Follow instructions from teachers and staff and cooperate with peers during classes and rehearsals.
Zero Tolerance for Bullying:
Bullying, whether in-person or online, will not be tolerated while on studio grounds or during any studio-affiliated events (such as performances, rehearsals, or competitions).
Any incidents of bullying should be reported immediately to a teacher or studio staff member.
Consequences for bullying may include warnings, suspension, or removal from the studio.
Code of Conduct for Parents/Guardians
Respectful Communication:
Communicate respectfully with teachers, staff, and other parents at all times.
Avoid engaging in gossip, spreading rumours, or making disparaging remarks about other students, families, or staff.
Supportive Behaviour:
Support your child’s growth by encouraging a positive attitude toward their peers and the studio environment.
Address any concerns privately and directly with the studio staff, rather than publicly or through social media.
Conflict Resolution:
If issues arise within the studio environment or during studio-affiliated events, follow the studio’s conflict resolution process and engage constructively in discussions to resolve them.
Refrain from approaching other students or families directly to address grievances.
Zero Tolerance for Aggression:
Any aggressive behaviour, whether verbal or physical, towards students, staff, or other parents on studio grounds or during studio-affiliated events will not be tolerated and may result in removal from the studio community.
Bullying Policy
Bullying includes repeated, unwanted behaviours that harm, intimidate, or demean another individual. This may include:
Verbal insults, teasing, or name-calling.
Physical aggression or intimidation.
Online harassment, such as creating fake profiles, sending inappropriate messages, or spreading rumours.
Consequences for Bullying:
First Offence: A formal warning and a discussion with the student and parents/guardians.
Second Offence: Temporary suspension from classes or events.
Third Offence: Permanent removal from the studio.
Any behaviour considered gross misconduct may be handled differently at the discretion of Stummer Studio.
Studio Rights and Responsibilities
Enforcing the Code of Conduct:
Stummer Studio reserves the right to address breaches of this Code of Conduct promptly and fairly.
In cases of serious or repeated misconduct within the studio grounds or during affiliated events, the studio may ask a family to leave to ensure the safety and well-being of the community.
Creating a Safe Space:
The studio is committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and enjoyable environment for all students and families during all studio activities and events.
Conflict Resolution:
If a family is involved in ongoing disputes or conflicts within the studio environment, the studio may recommend mediation or other actions. Refusal to follow conflict resolution guidelines may result in termination of enrolment.
