INTRODUCTION
We want to ensure you have the best possible experience with The A Team. To help us achieve this and to clarify our mutual responsibilities, we have outlined the following terms and conditions. We have used clear and accessible language throughout.
These terms are designed to safeguard the wellbeing of our students and ensure that the name of The A Team continues to be associated with high quality teaching and a positive, enjoyable dance experience.
Please note that failure to comply with these terms may result in refusal of entry to classes. The A Team regularly reviews and updates its terms and conditions, and we encourage all parents and students to check this document from time to time.
If you have any questions or would like further clarification, we’re always happy to help.
Thank you for being part of The A Team.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. Enrolment and Confirmation
1.1 You must begin by booking a trial and registering via our booking system, Class Manager. Each student may attend up to two trial sessions per class before enrolling on a subscription.
1.2 During registration, you will be asked to provide contact details, dancer information and any relevant medical details, along with consent for filming and photography. It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure this information remains accurate. Any major changes must be reported by email to [email protected]. For more information, please see our Privacy Policy.
1.3 Following your trials, you will need to respond to our email to confirm whether you would like to enrol on our subscription classes.
1.4 If your chosen class is fully booked, your name will be added to a waitlist and you will be notified when a space becomes available.
1.5 If a space is available, you will receive a welcome email, an invite to upload your preferred payment method to the system, and then your invoices. During your first month, you are likely to receive two invoices. The first will catch your student up to subscription and include the annual membership fee. The second will be your first subscription payment. Depending on when you join, these invoices may arrive together or separately.
1.6 Full payment is required upfront to secure your place. Until payment is received, the space may be offered to another student. Please note that your place for the following month will not be secured until you have uploaded your preferred method of payment to the system.
2. Payments and Fees
2.1 Subscription Classes
To secure your child’s place in our subscription classes, payment must be made by uploading your preferred card details to Class Manager. Subscription payments will be taken automatically on the 15th of each month.
2.2 Private Lessons
Private lessons are invoiced separately and are not part of the subscription model. These will be charged based on the number of sessions booked for the month and will be taken automatically from the card uploaded to Class Manager on the 1st of each month. Payment will be processed one day before the due date.
2.3 Late Payments and Non-Payment
Failure to make payments on time will incur a £10 late fee per invoice. If the late fee is not paid and the student still wishes to keep their space, further late fees will apply. If payment remains outstanding for 14 days, the student’s class will be automatically cancelled and the space may be offered to another student. You will still be responsible for all outstanding fees, even if your class or lesson is cancelled due to non-payment. Re-enrolment following cancellation is subject to class availability and may incur an additional re-enrolment fee.
2.4 Invoice Access and Amendments
Invoices are not sent by email. You can log in to your Class Manager portal to view your subscription and other invoices. Subscription invoices are visible from the 1st of the month, and you have until the 8th of the month to request any changes. After this point, any amendments will still need to be paid and will be reflected in the following month’s fees.
For all other invoices, including private lessons, changes or cancellations must be requested at least one week before the invoice deadline. After this time, the invoice will remain payable in full. Please note that some event payments may be non-refundable.
2.5 Changes to Payment Amounts or Dates
The A Team reserves the right to adjust payment amounts or collection dates if necessary. Any changes will be communicated in advance via your Class Manager portal.
2.6 Payment Method
The A Team accepts payments only via Class Manager using the card details uploaded to your account. Manual payments or bank transfers can be requested but will incur a £10 administrative fee per month to cover processing costs. Manual payments may cause delays, as they must be processed during staff working hours.
2.7 Review of Fees
Fees are reviewed annually and may be changed at any time. If changes are made, you will be notified in advance through your Class Manager portal.
2.8 Price Breakdown
Prices for subscription classes during the 2025–2026 season are based on 41 weeks of instruction, spread equally over 12 monthly payments. This means that the number of weeks in each individual month does not affect the payment amount. The monthly fee remains the same throughout the year.
2.9 Annual Membership Fee
An annual membership fee of £20 per student is payable either at sign-up or every September thereafter. This fee covers registration, insurance, licensing, and administrative costs.
2.10 Event Payments
Deadline dates will be given for payments related to events such as workshops, exams, showcases and competitions. The A Team will confirm the required method of payment for each event.
2.11 Cash Payments
If a cash payment is required, it must be handed to a staff member in a sealed envelope with the dancer’s name and the purpose of payment clearly written on the front.
2.12 Non-Refundable Payments
All fees and event payments are non-refundable.
3. Cancellation
3.1 Subscription Classes
If you wish to cancel a subscription class for the following month, you must notify us in writing by email to [email protected] before the 8th of the current month. Cancellations after this date will not be processed, and you will still be liable for the following month's payment.
3.2 Private Lessons and Other Payments
For anything not part of the subscription model, we require at least one week’s notice of cancellation before the invoice deadline. If this notice is not given, the fee will remain payable. Where one week’s notice is provided for a private lesson, The A Team will do its best to reschedule.
3.3 Minimum Class Size
Classes with fewer than eight students in total may be subject to cancellation. In such cases, we will notify you in advance and do our best to accommodate your dancer in another suitable class.
3.4 Unattended Lessons
All unattended lessons remain payable. If your child is unable to attend, you are still responsible for the fee.
3.5 Event Cancellations
No refunds will be offered for events or workshops unless cancelled by The A Team. If an event is cancelled by us, your Class Manager account will be credited.
3.6 Class Cancellation by The A Team
If a class is cancelled due to The A Team being unable to provide an alternate teacher or rearrange the session, your Class Manager account will be credited. Unfortunately, we cannot offer a refund or credit if you are unable to attend the rearranged class, unless there is a direct clash with a class you already attend.
3.7 Force Majeure Events
The A Team cannot provide refunds for cancellations or missed classes caused by Force Majeure events. This includes, but is not limited to, acts of God, power or utility outages, civil or military authority, national emergencies, explosion, flood, accident, earthquake, fire, notifiable disease, war or riot. We will make every effort to rearrange the class, but where this is not possible, we are not obliged to credit any account.
4. Clothing
4.1 The A Team branded merchandise is available to order here and uniform items can be ordered here. Please refer to our Uniform Policy for full details.
4.2 Only selected items and limited sizes are kept in stock at the studio in Accrington. Please check availability before visiting.
4.3 All students must wear appropriate The A Team uniform or merchandise for their chosen dance style. This must be purchased within the first subscription month.
4.4 For safety reasons, no jewellery or accessories should be worn. Dancers will be asked to remove any items before participating.
4.5 Correct uniform, including suitable footwear, must be worn at every session.
4.6 Hair must always be tied back during classes.
4.7 Any student wishing to take part in events such as showcases, exams or competitions will be required to purchase or hire costumes and tickets.
5. Classes and Performances
5.1 The A Team strives to provide high quality training with a balance of fun and discipline. If a student is repeatedly disruptive, a verbal warning will be given. Continued disruption will result in a discussion with the parent or guardian.
5.2 Promotional photos and videos may be taken throughout the year during classes. If you do not wish your child to appear in these, please submit a written request by email to [email protected]. We may also collaborate with external media companies in line with our Data Protection Policy.
5.3 Our annual performance will be professionally recorded. Personal cameras and recording devices are not permitted.
5.4 Mobile phones are not allowed during classes. If a student is found using one, it will be confiscated and returned at the end of the session. Phones may only be used if needed for learning purposes.
5.5 We strongly advise against bringing valuables such as phones or jewellery. The A Team is not liable for any lost or damaged items. Please ensure all belongings are clearly labelled.
5.6 Children will not be allowed to leave the building without a parent or guardian unless alternative arrangements have been agreed in advance. Child safety is our top priority.
5.7 The A Team is not responsible for any injuries incurred during class. Teachers will ensure that students are always taught in a safe and appropriate manner.
5.8 If you are going to be late to collect your child, please inform the studio. Late pick-up charges may apply.
5.9 To add or remove a class from your dancer’s schedule, please confirm in writing by email to [email protected].
5.10 The A Team employs industry professionals to deliver high quality classes. If a scheduled teacher is unavailable, a suitable alternative will be provided. Teachers may rotate or change at the discretion of management.
5.11 If a parent or carer discloses additional needs information to us, The A Team will work closely with them to provide reasonable provisions where possible. However, we are unable to offer one-to-one support within classes.
6. Attendance
6.1 Parents or guardians must notify The A Team of any student absence by email to [email protected] so we can update the register. If no reason is provided, the absence will be marked as “unknown” and may impact the student’s attendance record.
6.2 Students are expected to maintain at least 80% attendance to ensure consistent training and progress.
6.3 Poor attendance may result in exclusion from performances and events.
6.4 Exam entry is at the discretion of the teacher and will depend on the student reaching the required standard. Exam entries may be cancelled if attendance drops during the final preparation stages.
6.5 Students must arrive on time to participate safely. Any student arriving more than 10 minutes late may be asked to observe rather than join the session to prevent injury.
6.6 A responsible adult must accompany students into the building and remain with them until their class begins. The A Team is not responsible for students until they are collected by their teacher. Students must not wait unattended between classes.
6.7 At the end of class, a responsible adult must collect the student from inside the building, unless written permission is provided via email to [email protected] for the student to leave alone. The A Team is not responsible for students after they leave the class.
7. Discipline
7.1 Disruptive or unruly behaviour in class, including failure to follow instructions or causing unnecessary interruptions, will not be tolerated.
7.2 The A Team promotes a positive learning environment by teaching clear boundaries and setting strong examples to build confidence and mutual respect.
7.3 Abusive or disrespectful behaviour from students or parents toward staff or other families will not be tolerated.
7.4 Persistent disruptive or aggressive behaviour, even after warnings, may result in termination of membership.
7.5 The A Team operates a zero-tolerance policy on bullying. All students, parents and guardians must treat staff, other families and each other with kindness and respect, both in class and beyond. Please refer to our Anti-Bullying Policy for further details.
8. General
8.1 It is the responsibility of the parent or guardian to disclose any medical conditions during registration and to update us promptly with any changes. This ensures The A Team is fully aware of relevant health considerations for both student safety and parent peace of mind.
8.2 The A Team communicates through email, social media and phone or text. Parents and guardians are responsible for staying up to date with all relevant information, including updates shared on social media or displayed on notice boards. Please check your junk or spam folders regularly to avoid missing important messages.
8.3 Physical contact between teachers and students, or between peers, may occasionally be necessary for safe instruction and support. The A Team promotes safe and respectful practices and ensures that all interactions are always professional.
8.4 Participation in events is always optional. However, dancers on a competitive team are expected to attend all competitions in which their team is entered. Failure to attend more than one competition per season without a valid reason may result in the dancer being asked to leave the team.
9. External Training
9.1 Once a dancer becomes established with The A Team, whether through participation in competitions, shows, exams or by taking more than one recreational class, they are expected to be fully committed to The A Team as their sole provider of regular weekly dance training. This includes not attending regular classes or training at other dance schools.
9.2 We are happy to support external training opportunities such as associate programmes, auditions, taster sessions or one-off workshops. However, you must request approval in advance by emailing [email protected].
9.3 If a dancer attends training elsewhere without prior discussion or approval, this will be taken as confirmation that they have chosen to terminate their place at The A Team with immediate effect.
If you have any questions or need further assistance, please contact us at [email protected] and we’ll be happy to help.
By signing up to our classes, you confirm that you agree to these Terms and Conditions.
With thanks,
The A Team
