Terms and Conditions

HIGHSTONE DANCE ACADEMY - TERMS AND CONDITIONS.

CONDUCT OF STAFF, STUDENTS AND PARENTS/GUARDIANS

1) Highstone Dance Academy is committed to providing a safe and inclusive environment for all who join. Therefore, we have a zero-tolerance policy on bullying, discriminatory or abusive behaviour of any kind. Any inappropriate behaviour will result in immediate removal from the academy.

2) Highstone Dance Academy’s classes are taught by qualified, insured and DBS checked instructors. All tutors regularly participate in further training to ensure the highest possible standard of teaching. Appropriate physical contact is sometimes required when teaching.

COMMUNICATION

1) Highstone Dance Academy encourages open communication regarding any queries, concerns or issues. However, we request that you do not approach teachers during class times. Please email or telephone us instead. Office hours 9am-4pm Monday to Friday.     01707 658615  [email protected] 

USE OF PHOTOGRAPHY/VIDEOS

1) Highstone Dance Academy may use photography or videos from classes or performances on our social media or for marketing purposes. If you do not consent for you/your child’s image to be used, please make this clear on the parent portal.

EXAMINATIONS, SHOWS & EVENTS

1) Highstone Dance Academy is proud to offer many performing opportunities and encourages its students to participate in shows, workshops and events. However, these are not compulsory. Additional costs may occur.

2) Highstone Dance Academy is able to enter students for examinations with the ISTD (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing) and LAMDA. Although we encourage eligible students to participate in examinations, they are not compulsory. Students are entered for examinations at the teachers' discretion and their decision is final. Separate information is given regarding examinations and costs at the time of consideration.

UNIFORM

1) Students are required to wear the specified uniform for classes. Our uniform can be purchased through the portal. If you have any queries regarding the uniform, please do not hesitate to ask.

2) Long hair should be neatly tied back for safety reasons. We request that hair is worn in a bun for ballet. Jewellery (with the exception of small stud earrings) is not permitted for safety reasons. Should there be jewellery that cannot be removed (such as medical bracelets/jewellery for religious reasons) please let us know so that we can work out a safe solution.

FEES

1) Fees are payable termly in advance by BACS, credit/debit card or cash. 

2) Fees are due before first week of term. Fees paid late will be subject to a 10% surcharge. If fees are not paid within the first 4 weeks of term, classes will be withheld, and legal action may be taken.

WITHDRAWAL, ABSENCE & CANCELLED CLASSES

1) Should you decide to withdraw from a class at the Highstone Dance Academy, we ask that you give a minimum of 4 weeks notice before commencement of the new term or the full terms fee will apply. (Refunds can only be granted at the principal's discretion in extenuating circumstances.)

2) We understand that sometimes a pupil's absence from class is unavoidable. However, we request that where possible we are given notification of any absence. Missed classes are not able to be refunded.

3) On the rare occasion a class needs to be cancelled by Highstone Dance Academy due to illness, extreme weather conditions or other circumstances beyond our control, notification will be given as soon as possible. These classes will either be made up at a later date or refunded in the form of a credit on your account. Your enrolment in the academy is acceptance of these terms & conditions. In the event of changes to our terms and conditions, you will be notified by email.
