Acceptance Policy

Welcome to Wightmore School of Dance, we look forward to you dancing with us.

Wightmore School of Dance ignites a passion for dance, where we encourage positivity, teamwork, motivation, creativity and self expression.

We hold values of integrity and respect and children are encouraged to uplift one another. All children are made aware of their own strengths and also taught in classes how to use their body to the maximum.

New pupils will only be accepted to Wightmore School of Dance provided that they do not attend another performing arts school, theatre school or dance class in order to eradicate commitment conflict, conflicting teaching practices and clash of interest. The exception would be that you have made prior arrangements with Wightmore of Dance who have agreed to your attendance at the following organisations:  Royal Ballet School Associates, Royal Academy of Dance workshops and summer schools, Ballet Boost Associates, Elmhurst Associates, Tap Attack, South West Theatre Ballet, English Youth Ballet, National Youth Ballet. These organisations have been specially developed to go alongside a students weekly dance classes at their regular dance school.

At Wightmore School of Dance teachers collaborate to make sure that teaching styles are consistent throughout all classes.

Please remember when a student is performing in a production on stage, attends an audition, enters a dance examination, dances at a competition, attends a summer school or workshop, the student is representing Wightmore School of Dance. Not only do we hope that your child will dance to the best of their ability, we also expect them to uphold our values of respect for people around them.

We teach to the highest possible standard and gain the best possible results in a safe environment.
