How Wright Dance uses client information

The categories of school workforce information that we collect, process and hold includes but is not limited to:

  • Personal information (such as name, age/date of birth, contact details, performance license, pin number (eg; for ISTD exams).
  • Details of next of kin/emergency contact number/Medical information / allergies / medicine requirements

We use school workforce data to: 


  • Enrol students into lessons/enter pupils for examinations and performances etc 

  • Provide staff with necessary information for the health and safety and well being of the children including any educational needs.
  • Provide contact information in case of an emergency 
The lawful basis on which we process this information 
We process this information under Article 6b of the General Data Protection Regulation (2018) (GDPR), which states: 
“the data subject has given consent to the processing of his or her personal data for one or more specific purposes” 
We also adhere to Article 9 of the GDPR, which states: 
“Processing of personal data revealing racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, or trade union membership, and the processing of genetic data, biometric data for the purpose of uniquely identifying a natural person, data concerning health or data concerning a natural person's sex life or sexual orientation shall be prohibited.” 
Data collection requirements 
Whilst the majority of information you provide to us is mandatory, some of it is provided to us on a voluntary basis. In order to comply with the GDPR, we will inform you, through the application process, whether you are required to provide certain information to us or if you have a choice in this. Storing this information 
All data is stored securely on our data program, and is only accessible by the Principal and the DPO. 
 
Who we share this information with

We do not share information about our children with anyone without consent, unless the law and our policies require us to do so.

When required to do so, we routinely share this information with:

  • Our Local Authority for example for performance licenses
  • The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing for examinations

Why we share information 
Local Authority


We are required to share information with our Local Authority (LA) under section 5 of the Education (Supply of Information about the School Workforce) (England) Regulations 2007 and amendments, when applying for performance licenses. 


We share personal data with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing when entering pupils for examinations. 


Requesting access to your personal data

Under the terms of the GDPR, you have the right to request access to information about you that we hold.

Organisations must comply with its strict terms and conditions covering the confidentiality and handling of the data, security arrangements and retention and use of the data.
